What's your Cold Steel EDC today?

I’ll speak for him because I was part of the process. No, not David Mary. It was a plain jane flat grind Spartan, and he had the serrations done by Tom Veff.
Thanks !

I only have Veff SE on a CRKT M21 , with a poor HT , so it wasn't a very good test bed for my uses . Bent over just cutting plastic bottles .

I wanted to try that Veff type for easier sharpening , but kinda fell in love with David's version , because they are super easy . And good HT !

IIRC David did a Spartan also . But I do see now , that the slant is more Veff , on this one displayed here .

I would love both of those versions equally. Those serrated pro lites had nicely done serrations, significantly better than the tiny teeth they typically use.
The serrations are really well designed and executed. You only have to run your finger along them to know that you have a little buzz saw at your disposal for self defense or other emergency. Kudos to Lynn Thompson and Cold Steel for a number of excellent developments over the years.

Toting these two today. I seem to be comparing ergonomics and point utility. The SR1 Lite is certainly lighter, and grip-neutral, but boxier feeling than the 4-Max Scout. But whacking limbs off a wind-broken tree limb is easier with the heftier 4-Max simply from the extra weight and the angle at which it strikes when holding at the rear of the handle. Oh but I like them both...

That's a model I'd like to see return with a Tri-Ad lock. It kind of reminds me of the Benchmade Aileron.
The similarities are there at a glance. The Pro Lite while large is quite slim and light but durably constructed and has a great grip. If I ever see a nonserrated I can afford I will grab it - would make a great EDC utility. Yeah Tri-Ad Lock would be nice!

This is the a beast. Just pure excellence. Everytime I flick it open and hear that "clack" I just like it even more. This is the full sized s35vn and g10 model. 1000 times nicer than the aus10 gfn models. All around. Nothing wrong with them, it's just not the same

I frickin love it.

Looks fantastic for a 40 year old knife. Dang, that knife is older than me lol.
I have been working on the edge for a long time and it is probably the second sharpest knife I own, only behind a Rockstead Kon. I satin finished the blade, guard and pommel with 2000 grit paper. I also added the jimping grooves to the spine of the blade. Then I made the kydex sheath. I carry it but it has not cut anything besides some paper test strips.

Today like everyday I have a holdout 3 on me. It's the perfect knife for small edc tasks for me.

Other days depending on what pant I'm wearing, my needs for the day, and what gun my whims have brought me to carry, I switch between my Rajah 2 or my spartan... or in rarer cases I Sometimes my rusty beat to hell spetznas shovel. I sometimes carry a AK-47 knife usually for the smashy pommel that Is surprisingly useful.
