This Schrade/N.Y. 855 is absolutely mint with some of the most crisp blade action ever. Another sub $20 'vintage' Schrade knife, showing there are still excellent deals 'out there'.

After looking at this beauty, take a stroll to this link and supersize the pix, taking care to notice the third blade that would normally be a spey. I am very curious about this, for... um.... reasons.

I agree Calvin. Maybe a little suspicious of the disappearing factory grind mark? Not original, but it would be a handy blade. I have a couple 855 with a spey pen combination, like a 58OT.

Definitely a re-grind, note the "hump" on the spine that's in the same place as the spey hump. That's definitely note present on a pen blade, and if it were a small clip, the nail mark would be farther back, there'd be a swedge, and the edge would taper more gradually, not have that high spot wehere the re-grind started.

No pics yet, but I just got a nice model 293 today. Brown Delrin looks really good, some light sharpening scratches on the skinning blade but thats ok, it's gonna be a user anyway.

I'll hope you all will forgive my enthusiasm. I started a thread on it, but wanted to post one pic here. This took a lot of effort and timing to get to me, and a moderate bit of effort to complete. I'm just a tad bit on the excited side.

Thank you all very sincerely. The last one I actually picked up was the SP22X. Codger dug out an 804UH for me. And I also needed some leather. Still looking for an odd or an end, but it's basically complete. All 30 slots filled.

I wanted to display it in the living room, but the wife said no.
Actually, she just drove home with it this afternoon. I picked up the case with most of the goodies a bit over a month ago and have been working on picking up the missing bits ever since. (and pacing uncontrollably in anticipation) It was in Wisconsin, oddly enough only 20 miles from the sister in law's house. My wife told me she was planning a visit. Um... sweetheart, could you do me a little favor? lol...

I have definitely had to slow down a bit on the buying now. I think I'll drift off to sleep dreaming of Schradehenge.

what a neat day for me just won on our semi fav site to berate a 3OT, 225UH which will take some extreme loving care to restore this baby, and a 6OT all for less than $15 each. was shocked got them all so low. lol, was just bidding to see where they went. when they get in will share photos esp the 225 and its recovery.

mine is my first SCHBT01 its the china version but i think its going to hold up when i do get a chance to go camping

Here is a sleeping beauty. It is new, but has been stored under adverse conditions and is heavily stained. I soaked it in kerosene (jet fuel, actually) and scratched at the rough places with a graphite pencil and even a little bit with the tip of a knife. I don't know if I want to go with steel wool or anything more. Anyway, it's a dandy of a little fellow, a 44 OT, the Workmate, in catalogs from 1990 until 1993, and a run of 4000 in 2001. Methinks this one is from the earlier run.

Calvin - Yours is for sure an early run 44OT. The later run had quite the etched master blade. I have an 881 like that. Instead of removing the color, I chose to just get rid of any corrosion that was rough and worked on getting a dark patina.

went to New Orleans for my Big Birthday "60" and counting or should i just stop? any way while there my son went shopping for a knife for me. found a lovely 127UH with serial number inside which i think is great. will share photos when have time to add time. plus update the serial number so you all knowing can give me the time of manufacture. what a neat thing to be given for ones birthday, eh?
