Exceptional LB7. Nice score Dave! An auction for something you want but with little competitive interest is about as good as it gets.

This is the last Schrade I bought.

Beautiful ring turn T, I had my eye on that one myself, never seen a Wurlitzer cover before on one of these guys.

i could not go past this one .
never seen anything like it before.
not cheap either but most appealling.

the handle material appears clear with a base layer of yellow with the brown colour kind of swirled into
the clear stuff. Also there are minute but uniform gaps at the bolsters. I don't think they are where the material has shrunk.
is it delrin?

It's celluloid and I believe they called it Butter and Molasses celluloid.

Very nice.\

I just loves old bone Schrades, so I brought this one home and it is every bit as lovely as I had hoped for. No wear, good snap. I don't think the pepper and patina on these old knives hurts their appearance one bit. In fact, it makes me sad to see them scrubbed up bright on a buffer, often destroying the grind lines, swedge shoulders, etc. I would call this old soldier a kissin' cousin to the first bone 8 OTs.

I'm glad to see that you got this one. Please show us pictures when it arrives. And... turn the insert tray around!

I finally got one! NIB, all the bling, and at a fair price! This is knife is huge! I love large stockmen so this thing is perfect.

Hi Cal --

Nice old dude!!
Sch/Wal 881 with the 'old bone' - So we can probably date it to the 1950's (pre-delrin)?

Way ta go - you're really building up a pile of the 'old bone'
