I got this on a BIN $99.95 Free Shipping. This thing has a snap like a bear trap. I think it would have gone for more at auction.

Oh Lordy did you get a deal! I definitely missed that one or I'd have been all over it, looks like it was never used! Congrats!!!!

Hal, nice cattle knife!

You guys are killing me

Eric

What a lovely EO, Upstream; I was always partial to that shield, that leaf blade, that ebony....... Good score!

I think in may be cocobola. SW This was only listed for a few hours and had one low ball offer. It's hard to find one that somebody hasn't polished the bolsters..but it is tempting

Great oldie Upstream!

Fill me in on the details please. :"EO" means Easy Open(er)? When were these made? What kind of quantities? It is a rarity for sure.

Here's another oddball one that bears the "Imperial Schrade" name.

Nice knife for $4, eh ?

I showed my Marine Pearl 3 5/16" J.Primble/Belknap/Hdw.&Mfg. Co. 4 blade Serpentine Stockman in a post here a few weeks ago. Now i have it's brother, same knife but dressed in jigged bone.
This pair of Pristine Beauties may have been made by Camillus, but i doubt anyone will mind my showing it here.

Got a couple today from an ad I posted on Armslist.com, a 6OT and a 285UH, both NIB for $25 each. Boxes aren't perfect, but oh well.

I do not think those knives were made by Camillus! I would say they were made by Schrade.
The "Swinden key System" was used to make those knives.
Main Blades look like Pre.1973 "Schrade made Buck 301" blades .. Ken

Those are some beauties Roland! Definitely not Swinden, looks more like Ulster (especially that big clip), maybe 1950's? Pretty unusual seeing a four blade serpentine. Schrade had one back in the Cut.Co. days as well, but the clip had a nail nick, not a long pull.

Nice snags 357!

GREAT SET ROLAND!!!

I thought those were Ulsters too Eric. I think you might even be familiar with the building they were made in. The seller said he got them down on Canal Street...

Ulster_50_bjf-3.jpg

Ulster 50, 3 1/4" Serpentine Jack, with handles and blades pretty much dead ringers for Rolands stockman. They just had to remove the sheepsfoot and spey to make this one! :p

Looks like signs of a pivot pin on the right side of the first picture.

Sir, are you referring to my picture of the 6OT, or to the other gentleman's picture? Yes, my knife does have a pivot pin. I don't know much about these, so I don't know the rarities yet.

I was referring to the Primble knives, thinking that they were not built with the "Swinden key System".

But yes your 6OT does have a pivot pin showing, but the pin in your 285UH is concealed behind the blosters.. made with the "Swinden key System".
And that was good buy on those knives for sure.
Thanks Rick

I've been looking for a nice 301 for a while and I was lucky enough to happen upon this pristine, completely unmolested version 2.

Ok, just wasn't sure what you were referring to.

Here is a Schrade/Walden 2 7/8" Pen knife, marked 793/Stainless on the back tang.

Difficult to see clearly in this picture is the etch "United States Senate"

Jan2012011-4.jpg

I recall at Codger story about Albert Baer being annoyed that U.S. Senators were given a gift of a Swiss Army knife(?) upon taking their seat in the Senate and hence he came up with this knife, a product of proud American workers.
