The Harley Davidson knives are ones that I have never been able to lay my hands on, decent condition anyway.

Russell

Russell, Alice had a nice Harley knife the last time I was at the flea market. Came with the sheath as well, although I don't recall the price. Might have to take a ride over there again one of these days.

Nice finds Dave and Hal, you guys have been busy! ( I REALLY like that teardrop!)

Eric

You know what Eric, you are right! I do remember the HD knife, I was just so pleased about picking up the saw blade hunter that time I must of forgotten that one totally.

Russell

Thawk,

I have an LB-5DM, Damascus LTD done by Schrade that has the HALLMARK Stamp as well. This knife was manufactured in 1986.

Tom's Damascus. Love that blade!

Very nice thawk, thanks for posting the pics, never seen this model before, allthough it always seems I'm looking for something else, some other LB's and such have taken a back seat to other styles. Very interesting knife.

I think old Cut.Co. bone is some of the prettiest ever made, but I could never bring myself to carry and use a vintage knife. For a couple of dollars, and after I cleaned off the grime and dried paint, I had a beautiful handle without a master blade.

Friend Orvet gave 'er a new/old clip, for a guilt free pocket pal.

Thanks Dale !

Outstanding knife, and outstanding handles and work. Love the shield. Thanks for showing us Fran!

Nice pimp-job, Sauconian!

Sweet whittler, Roland.

Here's one that kinda new to me. It's a little makeover I did. here's what I started out with.

The blades on the original piece were pretty beat up and thinned. I happened to have a used spear...

I took things apart and cleaned them up a bit.

This is what I ended up with:

I did this more to experience the process, I was not so much interested in the quality of the finished blades. I added an easy open notch because the spring is a knuckle breaker. This will make a nice user, though.

Glenn

I LIKE that, Glenn! Great job, and a nice little user!

Oh, and Roland, YOU SUCK!!! That whittler is gorgeous. You are really lucky I never saw it!

Dave

Glenn, very good ! that's what i want to learn; how to take apart a folder, change blades or spring, AND, get it back together to look that good.
how about a 2-3 day workshop combined with fishing, swimming, and outdoor fun, deer roast, 22 shootin', checkin' the garden for good stuff, etc. ?
my place, this summer, lots of room, esp. if you want to pitch a tent. all welcome, it's only about a few thousand mile drive for most of you, but hey, it's true mountain wilderness; hike the alpine before any roads get there !
it would be so much fun to meet all the fine Schrade people here, but ya, i know, i'm dreaming.
roland

You were right to pick that knife up Fran, that bone is real sweet, Dale done a good job too. I like the tang stamp.

Roland, that's a sweet looking 8041 Whittler, I didn't see it on e-bay, I'm guessing it is a Herman Williams?

Glennbad, well done on the knife work, that has turned out very well, nice job!

Russell

I see my brothers have been busy gathering some excellent knives. Great showing.

Got new acquisitions myself to post but been indulging in a couple other interests here lately, gun collecting and Case knives. Promise, I will post them.

Rusty, Yes, Herman Williams, 2009. i have a 61OT, 2007, that Mr. Williams customized, and i wanted to get another. well, prices have more than doubled and i had put in serious bids on at least 5 other knives before this one. for this one i bid similarly about 3 days before end, and fully expected to be outbid again in last few minutes. i didn't remember to check until about 12 hrs after auction closed, so it was a nice surprise.
even with current relatively high prices, i think the "Williams' Schrades" are worth it. many a custom knifemaker would like to find a source of stag equal to that which Mr. Williams uses. this truly exceptional stag along with his master craftsmanship make these Schrades among the best ever. then take into consideration that Mr. Williams did the in-house custom work for Schrade for many (20+ ?) years. he is the continuation of Imperial Schrade Corporation, and these knives are 100% Schrade, not a Schrade customized by an "outsider" .
and of course, the Whittler is such a fine pattern.

Well done Roland, I agree wholeheartedly with your opinion of Hermans work! :)
