Beautiful finds Roland and Dave!

Dave, that gold gent's knife is in fantastic shape! Been looking for one of those for a while! For your info it's on page 96 of Catalog E, 1936 supplemental pages. Probably has the longest item # ever:
8759GOLD Shac
It is 10 carat according to the description.

Knifing has been a little slow lately.

A shieldless 12UH Roadie. These have a nice fat clip, long pull, and a bail is kind of cool.

Roadie in a clam-pak

And a new Case Peanut CV in chestnut bone. Yeah, it's not a Schrade, but usually pretty bone handles are accepted around here. I grab a new Case every once in a while just because I do. :D

Nice knives all!!!! That's a good find on the 512OT Dave, I've been looking for a while, (not that closely though) Other knife areas of purchasing just lately.

Thawk,
Nice knives! I like that shieldless 12UH a lot!

And I understand on the Case, I tend to do that once in a while myself!:D

Rather plain?? George, that is rather SWEET!!!:thumbup:

thanks Eric :)
I wish it had some of that nice peachseed bone, but I think the (real grown in the dirt  ) ebony?/cocobola? fits this one ok

Nice Jack George! I think your handles are ebony. Lotta blade there in width!! How's the length?

thanks Charlie! closed length is 3 5/8" - blades are probably a tad short :idunno:

That sure is a handsome knife, George. I'd love to see the secondary (spey?) blade too. Howzabout it?

thanks citytransplant! here's the pen blade

a little while ago i realized i didn't have an LB3, so i got this one on the bay:

camillus003-4.jpg

sheath too but i forgot to 'picture' it.
these were made for 13 years, ' 82-' 95, but don't often show up for sale.
were production numbers low ? i.e. not a big seller ?
at 3" closed, with a 2" blade, it is small for belt carry and an in-pocket Pen knife or small Jack might be preferred by most for a knife this size ?
still looking for an inexpensive LB4 !

Well, at least I know who beat out on that one! Roland, those little LB3s are fantastic knives. I love them and generally EDC one I had Muskrat Man do a little work on. Sadly, I seem to be addicted to them. I have about 15 and counting, some users, some NIB. I usually watch every one I see come up on the bay, and just got one in almost mint condition the other day for $12. I about fell over when I saw I won it for that. It's a rather sweet little knife, and probably my favorite Schrade model. You WILL like it!

PS - Good luck on that "inexpensive" LB4, you're not the only one looking for one of those!

I could never win an LB3 to save my soul on Ebay :grumpy:, ended up trading Dave for one about a year or so ago. I like them too, and the clip blade is a nice cutter. I prefer the LB5 for it's length, and don't EDC the LB4. :)

I guess it is still more commonplace than being struck by lightening, (and much more pleasant), but for the first time in years I walked into a sporting goods store off the beaten path, and found a couple new old stock Schrades!
Setting out on display was a SP-2 with the red handles and a 705UH. I even got a box and papers with the 705, (though the number on the box is wrong).
Did a bit of looking and also bought two Western fillet knives & three Remington bullet knives made by Camillus.

Dale, that's excellent! I have to say that the excitement of finding knives like that in stores is far better than seeing the same ones on Ebay or elsewhere. Nice going!
