Brady, you've got a couple of really good ones there. I have a few S-W 125OTs but none have "Buffalo Bill" shield. i have an LB5 similar to your LB7.

Welcome "Same Me". Mo one minds posting of pictures here. Feel free to post where you see fit, or create a new thread anytime you feel like it. Looks like you have a nice Heritage Series stockman, and the Turtle lockblade, no one has posted any from that series in quite a while.

Well I'll post a few more to see what everyone thinks. These are my Uncle Henry's. Sorry the pictures are not great they are in a display case behind glass.

Welcome from me too. i can see you really like your knives. that's what collecting them is all about. Schrade USA and it's predecessors made an unending variety of knives. even after you get 1000 Schrades you can still come across one you've never seen before.
i think your Horsepick Trapper was not manufactured by Schrade but is a post 2004 closure knife made in China bearing the word 'Schrade' as a 'nostalgia" mark.
the interest of collectors here is for knives manufactured by Schrade and earlier related manufacturers. part of the learning curve involves differentiating original USA Schrade knives from newer imported knives bearing the name 'Schrade'. not always easy as there has been much mimicking of not only the original knives but the packaging as well.
once you get into the original Schrades for awhile you'll get a sense of their unique and endearing 'personality' that sets them quite apart from the non Schrade manufactured ones.
and hey, really friendly helpful bunch of regulars in this forum, so there's always help with the learning.

I knew that the Horsepick Trapper was a China made knife. I collect alot of different kind of knives and I mainly buy whatever catches my eye at the time. Alot of my OT's and UH's came from my boss. He's been collecting for years and I bought most of them for less than $10.00 a piece. The ones I bought from him were all mint and never carried or sharpened. By the way I think this is my last one. haha...

Interesting time-warp knife. From the auction site we love to hate;
Looks like a pattern number 2563, without a shield. With an etch of a person's name, and 1945. Second WWII era knife I've found in a plain red box like this.
Raises interesting questions;
Why 1945 on an SCC? (Post Baer acquisition?)
Is it Schrade's box?
Who was Bob (beside's your uncle?):D

Here, with the other "red-box" Schrade.

Baer didn't acquire Schrade Cut CO (and change the name and stamps) until 1946, but the knife could have been made even predating the etch.

dang nice ones charlie, i dont think ive ever seen a blade like the little bleeder on that second one-wow--------brady

Thanks Codger. That's why you are the historian and I'm not. My worst subject in both high school and university. I remembered the date of purchase as 1943, not 1946. Gotta do more fact confirming.

Brady, that blade has a stud on the other side, and it's a can opener.

Russell, Bob possibly being a Shriner is a compelling bit of info!! Would explain the knife being preserved for posterity if it commemorated a significant date or anniversary. Maybe a "welcome to the fold" gift?

Affirmative on the red box being a Schrade Box.

Some just were missing the sticker.

Nice to see more red boxes; especially with a minty knife in them!!

Got another 863 in the mail along with a Case medium CV stockman...

Love getting this kind of mail. Already sliced into some apples to get that patina going. I whittled some with the Schrade today once I got it honed up to speed. Real good whittling knife. The weather was perfect today in Alabama for whittling out back on the deck.

here's a bluebone of recent. does anyone have a idea of production dates?
thanks-------brady
