NICE work on the clean up thejamppa. I you took any before pictures it'd be great to see how dramatic the change.

Hey Jamppa, you did an excellent job. hope you hang around. You'll be amazed at the incredible variety of Schrade knives and most of the old used ones still have good spring tension and no blade play. They were well made and have held better than most other brands.
Be sure to look at Schrade Cutlery Co. Jacks for some of the very best knives to bear the Schrade name.

Nice Whaler Calvin. Nice perseverance to undo the flaws Jamppa!
Pammy the Postie grinned at MY silly grin when I picked these up today.
I admit it, I worshipped at the Altar of Ebay!! But prices are in the tank right now!!

just won this one, hope it is a pretty in person as in photos. what does the numbering on the blade signify? i know most serial numbers were on the guard/bolsters so what is this one?

Nice! I'm still looking for a Woodsman like the one I had back in the 70's. I have a new one but it just isn't the same.

Beauties Charlie! Is that Sportsman the one MM had up for sale? Quite a nice one!

Yup! That was MM's. Every bit as nice as he said it was!!

Did anyone notice the pattern in the French Ivory, on that SIWF knife?

Has anybody seen the lines perpendicular before??

Didn't even notice that. Out od all the celluloids I think the ivory and pearl are the most stable.

delmas2nd...
has this 165 arrived yet? curious if it is as nice in person. you got a heck of a deal imho. post some more pics on the 165 thread when you can.

Some information in a link on celluloid suggests that maybe black cell is the most stable. I just bought a black one (see above) that is as tight as the day it was born.

Good thing, too; they have always looked pretty steep to me. Depends on which bank account you're lookin' from, I guess. Michael is the smart one; he chases history and facts instead of hardware. :)

Thanks everyone, the changes weren't dramatic, there were very little rust and such. I'll be posting pictures when my schrade made parker-frosts arrive.

Thats good to know. I have a Schrade Walden #766 that is black. I don't know if it is celluloid or "slick black". Maybe I should put it in my celluloid drawer.

this just in and it is in very good shape. looks exactly like the photos in the bay place. kinda neat it is a 165OT with a serial number of 16500. sheath in very good shape. did they come just plain or did they also come with the sharpening stone? will take photos tomorrow. blade looks like it might have been polished but didn't hurt anything.

sheath had no stone pouch on those. glad it came in nice and glad i didn't compete. like i said, the seller's feedback changed my mind. glad it worked for you. so i'm still on the prowl.....

just got this one in and in the listing it was stated as a 225H, i at the time thought they had misprinted it and meant 225UH but not that is what is on the blade:
SCHRADE-WALDEN
N.Y. - U.S.A.
225H
have never seen this marking, course there are a lot of knives i have not seen.
any idea of time frame and why the H? instead of UH?

The answer wasn't so obvious years ago when it came up. I think it was Larry (lrv) who had the answer and a pile of examples to show us. The one I showed above is the Sears American Eagle Collection SFO version.
