Here is one quote on the subject:

kristoher,
Extracted from From Robert Clemente's book
The 25OT was produced from 1964-1993
From1964-1974 There was a lanyard hole.
"In 1974, the hole in the bolster for lanyard discontinued
In 1976, the hole in the bolster was reintroduced
In 1989, again, no hole in the bolster until the knife’s deletion from the line in 1993."...

Hope that helps some.

If it is an 885UH, only if it is an old Brown Box example, IMHO. It might be an opportunity to try "Lets make a Deal" for the lot. They have been in the case for a while. I'd be interested in the "TA" trapper, but not sure what "TA" is.

Hal, I looked at the 885UH. He had one left with the box and it was a blue box.I looked at it and for 31 bucks it felt pretty decent.Nice and smooth. Made in USA. I think I'll pick it up if it's still there. Are these newer USA ones carbon?
Thanks,
Steve

I have finally picked up the a knife that has eluded me for four years. A 165 Deer Hunter with the orange Delrin. Mint, period. No box or papers. Not even sure if they came with them.

Next, I have done a trade for my first Schrade stock knife, an 897UH. Love it. It just might find its way out of the box and into my pocket.

Lastly I picked up a cable lock. I'll post picks of all when I get a round toit.

I just picked this up at the hardware store.Last one in a box. Is it a safe queen or user?
Sorry, my camera battery is dying.

I say use it if you think you want to carry it. It's a nice knife, but not particularly scarce (yet) in new condition. Give it another 10 years and it probably will be harder to come up with a new one. I have one I carry sometimes. That 34 pattern is a dandy pocket piece.

I have an 834uh BNIB that is a safe queen and a factory second for pocket use.

Haven't posted in a while but here are some of the ones I got over the last few weeks. Been on an open stock kick. The jigged Delrin, carbon blades and shields are what "cranks my tractor" lately.

Those 881s are actually different knives. No tube with the second one. Sure wish it had one but oh well.

Now looking for a 225h and a 834. Just got back from a trip to the Smokies and Dollywood so funds are tight till that is paid off. :o

That's some good looking blades there Alabama! How's the snap on that 974? I had eight of those at one time. Cool knives, but the snap was not too strong on any of them. I wondered if that was inherent to that pattern.

Finally, pictures of the latest (except the 897UH).
Here is the 165 Deer Hunter that has been my nemesis, and an 834UH that came along suddenly. I'm now off down the trail of Schrade folders. There may be no helping me. (never was really :D)

Pretty decent snap on all four blades. I wouldn't call any of them "weak" but they don't slam shut either.

I sure want to carry it too but I am going to look for a used one. I'd hate to lose this one in a foot pursuit or something.....I have been carrying my Case Texas Jack lately on duty and mixing it up with my medium Case stockman in CV....both in Amber bone.

You'd have to try real hard to lose that Deer Hunter, Bridgeman!:D
Nice pair of knives.
Here's a pair to tempt you down the older folder path.
Recent of Ebay, a nice reddish Bone 4" stockman, and a very Red 3 5/8 Jack, with "worked" liners.
Who knows where the KeenKutter came from?? I like the jigging!

Charlie, great finds as usual! That bone color's kinda throwing me off, but if I were to guess I'd say Ulster on that Keen Kutter. Possibly Imperial too, but I don't think they'd get that elaborate with the liners. Likely 1940's on that one, so definitely not Walden or Winchester.

Charlie, Eric,
The KK looks old enough to be a Walden but Eric is probably correct. My KK catalog book suggests it's probably from the 40's (42) but need a better look at the tang.

Postman brought me a nice Schrade Cut Co this morning. Sun a little high for accurate colors on the handles. They are not quite this dark.
Changed the pictures out, better accuracy on the handles.

Hal, that's a beauty. I bet when you hold it and open/close the blades you can actually feel the quality.

It was really dry, and after a good oiling, it does snap and have great action. Very tight in the liner, the blades do fit perfectly.

I really like the looks of the jigged delrin lwt. Looks sort of rich.Charlie the ns filed liners are fantastic.Hal, thats a nice haul. How many matchbooks do you have?

those are beautiful. so many pretties in this thread. i'm starting with the newer ones (newer meaning 80s, 90s, 00s), and as i learn, going from there. i ran out of places to put knives. Codger had some ingenious ideas but alas, my wife didn't care for the knives hanging from the ceiling with fishing line. i asked her if a different type of string would be better. it's been quiet here for the past two days now. :D

and, the person squarely responsible for my new folder addiction is Pyggy. blame him! schradehenge was irresistible!

Anyone know what the B stands for?

The B stands for "bolster," and usually refers to a knife that also had a non-bolster version. There are a couple pages of these codes in the front part of the 1926 catalog. BTW, that is a darling little knife! Good job!
