What's your newest Buck knife

Here is a comparison for the Filson's "tin-cloth" handle compared to the other Buck offerings of the same axe. It seems the grain is much more defined with the Filson axe. I see the same differences with the Filson camp knife handle as well.

Yes, I thought David Martin David Martin was being sarcastic - and I thought he was annoyed at my questions. So I was trying to be sarcastic back in fun to keep it friendly because I thought he was annoyed. Here's why.

I originally asked a question about the date and blade steel of the 120 I got. I thought it dated to a transition period and so I wanted some advice. I got a few different estimates, but I knew DM was an authority on these knives so was hoping that he would chime in. However, unfortunatly, I posted a poor image, and so DM's first assessment was that because it had one black spacer at the guard and one black spacer at the pommel that it dated to such and such years.
So then, I responded that actually there were TWO black spacers at the pommel and asked if that made a difference, trying to not be annoying but just simply wanting to know. I felt like DM's short responses and references back to his previous posts indicated that he was annoyed by all of my questioning or maybe he thought that I was questioning his knowledge or something. and then I had a typo in one of my posts which also seemed unfortunate.
In the mean time, I found an old post by DM which suggested that while the folding knives switched to 425M in 1981, the fixed blades switched slightly later. So once we established that my knife likely dated to 1981 or early 1981 or something, I just wanted to clarify which blade steel it possessed, 425M or 440C, since it still seemed at least to me maybe a little ambiguous. In his final post he also indicated that the change to 425M was accompanied by a change to a fuller hollow blade grind, which my knife doesn't seem to have - but I wasn't about to ask another clarifying question, so I dropped it at that point.
Then, when I posted my new 119, which I just bought brand new - I took his response about date and blade type to be sarcastic - since new knives are much more easily dated and the current blade steel is well documented, etc. I thought it was a sarcastic response to all of my seemingly to him annoying and persistent questions

So, I apologise for misinterpreting David Martin David Martin s intentions and greatly appreciate all of his help and knowledge (and I'm not being sarcastic).

I dont see sarcasm here or any post David has ever put out there. Im pretty sure trying to answer the question is all. Even compliments.

Cool handle. The grain looks great.

Came across a Buck 616 boot knife today at a pawn shop. Missing a fastner but I should be able to find something to fix it. Ill change the leather portion to brown and see how the color combo works. I haven't been able to post in this thread for a long time..Ta Da!! I added one to my rare, odd collection from here at the Gator Show and one I have looked for for years. It's one of 75 112's Lighting Strike Carbon fiber handles, copper frame in S35VN. No BCCI blade etch. I first seen it Friday for $200.00 and after 3 offers got it for under $150.00. I have a Copper frame Custom by Joe in Sanbar Stag bbut this is the 112 that got me back into Collecting after a dozen of my best went missing after the 2014 Blade Show. 20210131_104632.jpg 20210131_104602.jpg
