David Nowlin I was referring to the "Supreme" 112..not the new LE. I think the price Buck asked for the new LE was high but not stupid. I still plan to add one to my collection and have it made into a old fashioned automatic sometime in the future. Bucks retail pricing is a big mystery to me lolol! Some I value about what the 'street price' is some are a bargain and some are high to me. I tend to value older LE's and Customs by what it would take to replicate now but you have to account for inflation. For example to order a new Nickel silver frame Elk 112 in plain old 420 is close to $200.00 so if you find one, especially NIB, with a drop point blade in S30V that is a bargain NOW for less than $200.00. New collectors who chase the old nice Customs and LE's are not scared of higher prices because that is what they are worth NOW. The trouble for us oldtimers is we found them 5 10 20 years ago and tend to judge 'value' by what we paid back then. Armand is shocked by what 422's go for now because he only paid 20 to thirty bucks for many rare and hard to find LE's many NIB back then. The collector base for Bucks is growing and when that happens along with inflation prices absolutely go up..In 5 years the price of the new LE 112 at the MSRP of $365.00 might be considered a bargain.
