What's your survivla knife??

If we're talking about the knife most likely to be carried at any given moment, mine would be a Vic Swisstool Spirit or Bark River Mini Canadian.

In each of our two cars is a multitool and a folder so there's always something available if I'm not edc-ing for some reason.

The one I grab specifically for camping or hiking now is a BR Northstar.

Caught in a pinch, it'd be a Vic Fieldmaster.

If I knew I was going into the bush and had time to grab a pack, it would be a Busse Anorexic Badger and a Busse Fusion Battle Mistress.

The top blade here is one of my Orange Mora survival knives. The other two Moras are also great, with the Clipper getting a lot of use in my kitchen.

I agree with your choice of Moras. The Clipper on the bottom in your photo is my current favorite, too.

My survival knife would be what I carry .

The keychain knife goes everywhere with me cos I like a blade in case ...

I notice that your keychain has an excellent and useful assortment of tools in addition to your Mercator "cat knife." Bravo!

Usually mine is my Dumpster Mutt on the bottom, for my son ( pit Jr ) it's usually the Mora at the top !!!

If we're talking about urban survival scenarios, then I'm most likely to have at least a large Ka-Bar TDI with me, probably a SAK Ranger with it. But in the "bush", I will definitely have some kind of a small to medium size knife, perhaps a Tommipuukko, Fällkniven F1 or a Busse Game Warden. Most likely it's either a Tommi or the F1, both of which are definitely among my favourite knives. There's a good chance I'll also have something larger, maybe a hatchet, or a larger knife.

...but the one you'd most likely have on you in a survival situation, the one you wouldn't head in to the bush without...right noe for me it's a vic farmer...

my edc right now is a vic farmer too - but the one I wouldn't head into the bush without is my new Brusletto Troll Kniven

Helle,

Is that the Swiss Tool X in your picture? And if so, how do you like it?

Doc

It appears to be except instead of scissors mine has a serrated blade, the rest is the same though.

I like it a lot, the pliers head seemed short to me in the beginning but they have served well. It's been my go to camping tool for about 4 years now replacing my LM super-tool, only because the LM is more like a bali these days.

Any way the Swiss tool is still like a vault.

Hope it helps.

My # one knife would be my Randall #14. As a second backup knife it would be a Knives of Alaska Cub Bear or a Tops Carolina Skinner. I also have a Knives of Alaska Military Brown Bear Cleaver and Cub Bear set I would also feel confident with.

I notice a lot of fixed blades listed. Do you carry these on daily basis, or are they in a survival bag at home?

One knife? Lets see. It would probably be my 655 Buck Short Nighthawk.
Good for Chopping,Digging, cutting and if need be tie it to a strong straight branch and
make a spear out of it.

I have four of my Orange 760 Mora's. I keep one at home, but the other three go in the PSKs that stay in my truck, daypack and external frame backpack. If I am in the outdoors, I will more than likely have my daypack or backpack with me so the knife will be on my person. In my everyday life, I am usually close enough to my truck that I could get to the knife. My actual EDC knife is either a Camillus Heat or a Victorinox Hiker/Super Tiner, depending on what I am doing that day.

Pocket EDC: Leatherman ST, Delica, SAK Ambassador.
Car: Machete and Estwing Hatchet.
BOB: Golok
Hiking: ABC Hammond along with EDC.
Medium Hike: Cold Steel Master Hunter, With EDC

I don't know about others, but I practically always keep a fixed blade with me, which is to say on my person, not in the trunk of my car or locked up in a suitcase. If there's somewhere I can't go with a fixed blade, then it's a place I can't go with a folder, either, and I'll always take a fixed blade over a folder. A personal preference. The only folder type knife I carry with any regularity at all is the SAK Ranger, and I suppose it's slightly more a multitool than a regular folder.

Last time I went out I carried a RAT-3, TOPS Sudden Impact and RTAK-II. This saturday it's gonna be RAT-3, Ka-Bar BullDozier and RD-6.
