Who carries a Stockman

I'll be carrying this one tomorrow. Someone let this one out the door with an unsharpened clip blade - the dullest new knife blade I've ever encountered, but she's razor sharp now.

Loving that one. What are the scales?

GEC certainly have offered really nice acrylic handles, this is no exception.

I like that Stockman and find the Osage Orange handles very good in it too. Just wish they'd offer that 81 frame as a Surveryor too on single spring, Clip/Sheepfoot

This came in the mail today. :)

A nice, 3 line stamp 8OT.... Had a few corrosion spots on the spine of the blades where someone with very acidic hands closed the blades before it was stored...It is still un-sharpened and has a little curl of Delrin hanging off the center pin hole. Not bad for 25 bucks!

Thanks, guys, for the appreciative comments. The only two GEC acrylics that have appealed to me are this one and the Coffee House acrylic (have an # 85 Bullet End Jack (clip) in the latter). All of the others have left me cold (although I have been chicken-eyeing a # 89 Executive Whittler in clean, white acrylic and a #53 Moose in Cinnamon Swirl, lately).

My favorite is a bone and cv med. case. 4 years of use and it gets better every day. The larger is an amber bone and cv jumbo (think that is what case call their xk stockman), great knife but bigger size means less pocket time.

That Coffee House haunts me, I chose a Halfwhitt in Pickle Green Bone instead, regret that!
I think there are a number of really good acrylics such as faux Tortoise, Lava Lamp, some Dead Skunk, Kryptonite and Pumpkin Patch. But it is all a matter of choice, a nice alternative to Bone, Wood or Stag mind. Horn I steer clear of.

Carrying this old Wostenholm today, a gift from Lyle :)

That's a great looking old knife Jack!

That is a nice stockman Jack. I like the hammer too.
Nathan

Thanks guys. The blacksmiths hammer is a Swift & Sons of Sheffield in solid cast steel with the War Department acceptance stamp. Last Xmas Eve I heard a guy I know was on his own from Xmas, being from New Zealand, so I invited him round for Christmas Day. With the short notice, I didn't have a gift for him, but as he's a blacksmith, I figured he'd appreciate the hammer. He did :)
