Who else EDCs a fixedblade?

Fixed blade carry for this week-end:

Dozier Arkansas Traveler in Behring ordered Micarta. This one was all the way in the U.K. when I found it.

I carry a fixed blade often. The sheath is critical! I use a pocket sheath with a clip. I don't like it on my belt when i'm not outdoors and i don't like it swimming around in my pockets. This setup works very comfortably for me.

Did the sheath come with the clip? I've been considering a Bark River Fixed Blade for EDC but was not sure how best to carry it.

 I love my AT. It took over as my most carried FB the day it arrived.

I started carrying this cheap S&W SW990 around recently, it's supposed to be a neck knife but it rides along with my wallet nicely. Haven't used it much. Here's a stock photo.

I've never used a Gayle Bradley folder and I'm sure it's excellent but I consider it a bit big for edc. Never held one so just assuming. Also as good as m4 is I hardly call it carbon steel. Sure it's steel and has carbon but so does all other steels. It's too heavily alloyed to be carbon steel. It's just not stainless

Why don't you check out spyderco knives with blue super? That's definitely a carbon steel and comes in sizes that range from very small to fairly large. They're one handed opening, have locks, and have pocket clips.

Such a sweet lil blade. I carry it in my back pocket. Craftsmanship is top notch.
Got one in lightning strike cf on its way.

Good to know. I have been looking at them for awhile, but the short cutting length is putting me off.

The only thing I would caution is to get a material that will be slimmer for pocket carry. I had one made in sambar stag and the bone itself was so wide that it made it hard to carry comfortably in the pocket. So far every other one I've seen looks to be thinner handle wise but just be aware that you should check that out first. I believe it was just the way the stag has to be done in order to look like stag

Mmm. Thanks for the info, I will have to keep that in mind. I think I would only buy one if it had a 3.5" blade or so, though.

Yes, the sheath already had the clip. I believe the appropriate carry method depends on the size of the knife. I use pocket clip sheaths for fixed blades up to 5.5" OAL. Of course the exceptions are the knives with fat handles that i just wouldnt want to put in my pocket. Anything longer than 6 inches, i'd carry on my belt (this is not appropriate for urban carry). Of course, this applies to someone with a build similar to mine. I'm a slim build at 5'7" tall and the pockets of my jeans really aren't that deep.
