Who has an EDC for sheeple friendly carry, and one for who cares?

using a tool in any size of shape as a tool is hardly offensive. people who fear tools being used as tools scare me.

whipping it out flicking it open and showing off isnt the same thing as using a tool as a tool. its attracting attention/showing off and the kind that isnt helpful for anyone .

round here i carry and use what i want as its legal to. regardless of which cutting tool i have i dont make a spectacle of myself or it and no one runs in fear or tries to arrest me. most to almost all dont even notice. go figure......

op id say slip joint pocket knife or swiss army knife or multi tool type etc, but i know folks who see those as weapons as much as a cold steel xl folder. so depends but likely your best choice.

This ^^
While I don't often use my knives in public in front of people I do make it a point to use my cutting tool for the task at hand and put it away as soon as I can.
Of course if I had to cut some food like say a pizza they didn't get all the way through the knife is down on the table...ect.
I have no problem open carrying a 9" oal belt knife on my side, and I don't get looks Because they're only out during use and sheathed when not. The county I live in is pretty rural which may be a factor, but i still try not to be obnoxious about my knife use / carry.

Simple common sense and a knowledge of what the word means is more than enough info to understand why one may take that word in a negative way, hopefully, you can learn from this thread to be more careful in your choice of names to call people.

I use the term "sheeple" from time to time. It is much easier to use "sheeple" than a long verbal or written description that means basically the same thing. I am not attacking somebody's morals, just using a descriptive term that means that your morals and politics are different than my own. Nothing more. Do you want to feel something negative by use of the term? Knock yourself out. I have zero control over how you choose to feel.

It is both amazing and sad how butthurt and politically correct everyone has become in the last few years. Insult my family, I'll take offense. Attack my heritage, you're going to have problems. Go after my character, and yours will be in question. That is pretty much it. Everything else is fair game except attacking my rights and freedoms.

Want to call me a sheeple? LOL. Go ahead. Software like Grammarly doesn't even have a synonym for the term. That should tell everyone how ridiculous it is to take offense to the word.

Oh, about the knives.... I pick and choose what knife I carry based upon the task to be done. I'm not going to carry a fixed blade at the office or a tactical to a wedding. It's just not practical.

If I am going to be around people I don't know, I may pick something low-key but, I will pick something. I'm not the sort of person that will go without a knife just to please someone else.

Autos are off the table for me and that's fine. Don't really see the need anyway. Assisted opening normally don't get carried because some people can get a little dramatic and overreact. I don't need the drama.

From time to time I will carry two knives but it is rare. Maybe a fixed blade and a small folder or multi-tool.

The term "sheeple" is insulting to many non-knife people and actually even to me (someone very much into knives). Whether people should over-react to knives or not is a completely different story.

Please provide a list of words that might offend you so I can avoid using them..... not. If I avoided all words that offended everyone on the planet I would be mute.

I am not picking on you specifically, no offense intended. I am just tired of this new age of words offend and even if the intent was not to offend it is my fault that you took offense.

Sheeple is a good name for most of today's public with exceptions for everything of course why someone might have a true genuine fear of a object which can be understandable. Anyways I'm at a age and happily living in a state where I carry what I want and if I have a true reason to use my knife I'm not going to be concerned about taking it out. About a month ago my wife dragged me to one of those couple paintings and have some wine that's so popular now. Anyways I think my little 95 pound Latin wife uses my knives more than I do and I carry them just for her. She says honey do you have your knife which is usually a multi tool and the scissors she wants but that day I had my protech auto with 4 inch blade. Whack! It opens I hand it to her and thought all the yuppies were going to choke on wine and cheese. That was the most fun of the night. If they only knew I was carrying also. Lol!

Same here, makes life easier sometimes. I find the fact it is on my keys seems to help people cope as well.

That's a beautiful and highly useful Knife.
I like it.
What maker is it ?

I carry a small pocket sheathed fixed blade, and a larger fixed on the weak side (the light artillery rides strong side).
Fortunately, I live in an area that isn't hypersensitive to such things. Never felt the need to go to the ladies intimate apparel section of a store, whip out a BK9, and scream EEEEHAAAW! either.
That being said, I've never gotten a second glance while using a cutting tool when necessary. I think those who could have been offended by seeing a knife, never noticed.
They were to busy walking into things, because their noses were glued to their phones.
That's a sheeple.

My normal carry is a large CRK Insingo, a Victorinox Pioneer, and a Victorinox Executive. I occasionally switch out the Insingo for another knife, but the two SAKs are a constant. I would be more likely to use one of the SAKs in public, but that's not the reason I EDC them. I carry them because I like them and they're extremely useful. Even if everyone on the planet loved and carried all types of knives, I would still include those two SAKs in my pockets. The OHO knife is for heavier cutting tasks, and also because I like it/them.

Back in the '90s, I was once cutting some paper with the tiny scissors on my Victorinox Classic SD. A woman saw it and said, "I hope you realize that you're carrying a deadly weapon!" Unfortunately, there exists some people who find a knife threatening no matter how small (tiny) and innocuous it may be.
