Case Caribbean blue jig bone trapper. It’s a beautiful knife. Unfortunately the clip blade is off center almost touching the liner and the spey blade has substantial blade play. Already sent an email to Case. Haven’t had much luck trying to get a passable one of these….this is my 4th try.

Steve Pfeiffer, writing in his book Collecting Case Knives, states the pattern goes back to the early years of Case (no specific date of introduction is known). You will like that knife; I find it is the smallest practical pocketknife for me nowadays (along with the Case 6225-1/2 and similar size knives) - a lot of blade in a small frame but enough frame to grip well. OHI have a yellow peanut in my pocket. Sometimes I think it is a bit small so I ordered a Black Synthetic Medium Jack, 22087 ss. I'm curious, how long has that specific model been around?
Regards Erik
Yes, I got the package today and I really appreciate it. It is like my yellow pen, only thicker with two springs which is a plus.Steve Pfeiffer, writing in his book Collecting Case Knives, states the pattern goes back to the early years of Case (no specific date of introduction is known). Whoops. I simply typed in the wrong number. That should have been 11031 SH. Sorry for any confusion. Thanks for your remarks on the half-whittlers, Will. I look forward to seeing a photo show of yours.
Terrific trio of sowbellies!
I tend to favor multi blade pocket knives, but that simple sheepsfoot with wood covers and a shackle has a ton of appeal!
Thanks for some details on how you "deleted" the pen blade.
That's an impressive clean-up you did, Bruce!I don't have a lot of experience with Delrin covers on knives, but I had NO idea they could discolor that badly! Thanks for the tips on how to fix the problem in both mild and severe examples.
I saw that cool knife in another thread, and I think you wrote that the tang stamp number is 12031SH. You said the original handle was walnut, a favorite wood of mine, and I didn't realize that Case had a separate number (1) for walnut compared to other wood (7). Does the "2" on the tang stamp mean that your knife was originally an electrician model with a screwdriver as second blade? Interesting knife that's teaching me new stuff!

Thanks for the advice. Hmm I have a sling that has that white waxy stuff that forms on some leather. It isn’t mildew as far as I can tell. I looked it up and it’s called spue. I’ll have to try ballistol.Storm, Older photos, but I had misplaced that 6318 for a few months before I found it, maybe six months, and it had whitened up like you see. I used Ballistol (which I also use for cleaning similar white mold off of old leather). A gas station type red rag, soaked in Ballistol coupled with aggressive rubbing cleaned it right up. I now check my older Delrin handled knives and when you first see the white forming simply pocket carry the knife for a week and it cleans it right off. OH
Ps have that same knife with me this weekend, at my daughter and son-in-laws, running some new circuits for them on their new deck - that knife is a workaholic!
Now that's a grand statement of knives . Very nice.View attachment 2130872
Really love the Case knives from the 1964 to early 1980s. The colors just slay me.
Thanks WP, I should have known there would be a whole thread on this topic here on BFbaxtrom many people, myself included feel that jigging running into the bolster is a desirable feature. The alternative is to grind off material and have a flat area going into the bolster.
This may be of use to you
Jigging hitting bolsters
I have a couple of knives that I have purchased recently that has indentations on the edge of the bolsters where it looks like the jigging was carried too far on the scale material and hit the bolster. Has anyone seen this before? I thought it was unusual when I saw it on one, but then got...www.bladeforums.com
