Who still carries a Case Knife?

This one has been with me today. Started in an open top sheath but ended up in the pocket.View attachment 2283270View attachment 2283272
Nice Heavyweight example

I notice your Tabby has a fine throne, my madam has many and a basket but often as not she'll take it into her head to 'evict' me from any chair I occupy. Her method is to get behind me and start vigorously clawing my back :eek:o_O🤣 it works! The American writer Mark Twain was a fan of cats but endured them too...he had one that liked to 'autograph' his leg with its teeth & claws.....

Thank you. He came into the house early January 2019. He is one of four downstairs and out 11 year older loner is segregated upstairs. She traveled with me from 2017 until end of 2019, then from mid-2020 until I started working from home in early 2022. We recently tried reintroduction and she did not want anything to do with it. She would not come down and when she did it was for just a minute or two.

I've got the stag sowbelly this week... it's the "Rancher" version with CV steel... I really like the sowbellies... after I do my "ergo-mods" to them. It makes them so much better to carry and use....
Strange thing.... I pulled this out to touch up the edges, and promptly dropped it... onto a concrete floor... 😞 After inspection, I thought it had escaped any damage... then I saw the little ding at the end of the bolster on the spey end of the knife. I exercised the blade, and found out the ding had altered the w&t of that blade... there is now a little built in hesitation when opening, and it's a tiny bit sluggish on closing. Not a huge deal, just a change. I'm keeping it well oiled, in hopes that it will wear in and smooth back up.... life goes on....

If it doesn’t smooth out, take a #1 Swiss safe edge file and draw it across the liner very very lightly. One pass should do it.

I carry one on occasion, sometimes for a day or two and I other times for months. My go to Case knives to carry is usually a large yeller handled trapper in CV, the only other one that sees decent pocket time is a medium serpentine stockman, also yeller and CV.
I feel Case has the trapper pattern nailed down solidly.

I probably carry a Case Slimline Trapper (they call it a Utility now, formerly known as a Truck Farmer's knife) more than any other knife. A basic Case can be very nice carry knife if you take the time to ferret out a good one. The jigged bone covered bare heads have a tendency to crack at the back pin. The Delrin covered ones like this one don’t have that issue.
