Hey guys, my name is Jonathan Worley I live in Asheville NC and am new to knifemaking. Im friends with hillbillychuck a.k.a. Chuck Fogarty, who is teaching me alot of useful things about knifemaking, and his step-son who is also a knifemaker. Im getting into it because I enjoy bending steel to my will.

My name comes from my obsession with ravens(the bird not the football team) and RavenbladeZ is going to be what I call my small knifemaking business when I go f/t after i become a master smith in the ABS(gotta set my goals high right?).

My name is Mike Santos I am a golf course superintendent in RI. I have made a dozen or so knives that I give to the crew to use to destruction. Now that winter is here I have some time to make a couple of knives and have been looking at this forum for a week or so now and would like to join some discussions. Thanks and I look forward to some fun and advice.

hey everyone, i just joined and i have a question about "rizzuto estileto's."
i have a knife that is about 20 years old and it looks like an authentic rizzuto but it only reads stainless steal on the tang. i just want to know if anyone out there can tell me if they made some of these knives without the rizzuto estileto stamp. like i said it's a dead ringer.

thank you in advance,
john

Well, incase anyone was wondering, im a 16 year old Ohioan, whose families is from west Virginia. I was inspired to knife making by all the great action movie of the 80's,and my father, and grandpaw. My grandpaw fueled this growing interest with all the knowledge he passed to me from his proffesion as a machinist. So I started making ka-bar type knives from stuff I found around the garage, very poor knives, but they served their purpose as learning tools. Now I currently have a shop filled with the right tools and a head filled with the right technique to use them. A long Japanese sword forge, 150 lb. anvil, and an assortment tools, and lots and lots of books!

Hi all

Those of you who have been around a few years will remember that I used to almost live here. I couldn't start my day without a cup of coffee and the latest version of the Tom (Mayo) and Jerry (Hossum) show. I made my first knife - oh about 7 years ago. It was supposed to be either a one time effort - or maybe a passing hobby. Since then, I've made something in the neighborhood of 600 knives. It kind of got away from me. I also sell knife making supplies, and Web Hosting but I won't link to those here because I haven't upgraded yet and I don't want to start back in hot water (least not right away).

I live in Alberta, Canada - North West of Calgary

Where have I been for the last couple years? Well, I kind of got distracted - and I married her. May I present my wife (and pin artist) - Marilyn

Till Later

Rob!

Hi folks,

I am a oldie newbie (55yrs old and beginner knifemaker) and live in Monument, CO, just north of the Air Force Academy.

I've been interested in making knives for many years and just recently starting acquiring machinery (KMG-10, bandsaw, drill press, wet wheel
grinder, files, anvil,.........$$$$ ) to get set up for making knives.

I've taken a few day classes from Steve Rollert of Dove Knives (Keenesburg, CO) and hope to take a few more as the funds allow. To date, I've only been able to finish one hollow ground drop point but should be doing more as my shop is close to being set up for the basics.

A friend of mine who is a fantastic welder/fabricator cooked me up a nice
9x14" forge that I'm going to insulate as soon as I can get a hold of Darren
Ellis (must still be on vacation). I'll then have something I can practice
heat treating and tempering with. Forging will come later after some intruction.

This site has been such a terrific help and encouragment to me. Hopefully,
in the near future, I'll be able to post some pictures for your criticisms :) .

Anyways, I really appreciate the expertise and assistance you all have lent me and look forward to chatting in the future.

Very best regards to all.

The good Lord bless!

So I'm a new guy, worked with a buddy on making a sword and a couple knives about 10 years ago or so, and now I want to get into it myself. I've been interested, heck obsessed with knives since I got my first when I was around 6.
Once we get caught back up from the standard Christmas bills and such, I'm hoping to get into the knifemaking thing pretty quick. Course the obvious issue is equipment, but I'm planning on making a small, one or two brick forge(gas) to start with and I'm looking at smaller anvils(55lb) on Ebay, theres a few that even include some hammers which woiuld be great.
I'm in CHattanooga TN, fairly new transplant, Anybody in my area to get together with?
