Because of Mantis's dishonest marketing (spam) campaign, any attempt at a legitimate review will forever be suspect. Shills can no longer be discerned from true satisfied customers.

How this company can ever expect to be taken seriously again is beyond me...

Apparently, you do not understand the concept of the militia. It's all in fun. It's just a fun way to be a part of the design process of new knives. Haven't you always wanted to help a major knife company design knives? Have them use some of your input and ideas? That's all it is.

Read a bit. If you look you will see all kinds of makers, company owners, and retail owners here soliciting input and discussing ideas.

But doesn't ZR Rated Tire Rubber just scream performance..

It is a shame that a DUMB move by Mr. West has all but ruined a company trying to make it. I honestly had never heard of Mantis before this, and I have to admit, I went and looked at the website. Some of the knives actually look ok, and for the price, seem like a decent deal. However, with the fact they cannot give an appropriate blade steel description or price (3 different, prices on 3 different websites), coupled with the childish way they(mantis militia) have acted on the forum, I feel I will never be a member of the MM. I will stick with my Spyderco's, which by the way are also affordable, have great blade steels, great designs, and have a stand up owner who is not only accessible, but pleasant to deal with.

WTF?! SO my actually bothering to go get one of these and do my first attempt at a review on it makes me a shill? I could give a rat's ass about the company. I saw that they had a knife in my price range, and I figured I would try it out. And then I wrote about it. For what it was, I liked it. So because I did it on a knife from a company that flubbed a marketing strategy I am now some brainless moron? Thanks. What a way to welcome somebody to the forum. Why don't you go read some of my other posts before you go saying that any post on them is obviously from a shill. And I clearly stated up front that I had one of their knives, AND that I went to get another one after seeing all of the screaming on here, just to see if they were crap or not. And most of my other posts were on other knives completely. So quit screaming shill. If you didn't like my review, post it there. Don't hit me with a back-handed comment in another thread. Especially when my post is the only one on the board I had found reviewing a Mantis knife. That is ME that you are talking about there. Not some vague generality. Not some idiot coming in and quoting stuff right out of their catalog to win a free knife or whatever other gimick they had. STFU? Wow, there is an intelligent argument. You slammed anybody who did a review of mantis, and I am the only one that had a review on there for them. So how am I not supposed to take it personally? And my comprehension skills are just fine. You painted anybody that talked about mantis knives with a broad brush. There was NO distinction made between the other guy that was posting and arguing with you, and me, who wrote a review. You just started screaming shill. Next time either learn to be more specific with who you are calling names, or take your own advice.
