Why carry a big knife?

I only shoot the thing as an absolute last resort. It's heavy and I hate packing it around. I just hate being made into bear poo more.

This one will make you numb in about 1 shot lol S&W 329 PD Airweight .44mag 26oz

I. Hate. That. Gun.

Ta hell with those things, I'd rather hold the 44mag shell in my fingers and smack it with the butt of my BK2, than shoot one of those.

Worst gun ever.

I would love, absolutely love to see you dual wield them. Please god, find another one and bring em to Ethans. Please.

How many rounds you got through that one? 4-5 or so?

All the ones I see at the gun shops, have 3 cylinders dirty, and 3 clean as a whistle. :D

A couple hundred while it isnt fun to shoot, it isnt that bad and I have heard it is quite pleasant with .44special

Read a story about a guy in OutdoorLife, that killed a brown with a Buck 110, and a ton of testicular fortitude. Lost an arm, but he won and the bear didn't. Sounded like a helluva good war too.

Give it a read. http://www.outdoorlife.com/node/45097

Just read that story about Gene Moe, Moose. He was 69 years of age when he killed that bear. Remarkable.

And well worth the time required to read.

Bear are scared of naked Marines blowing raspberries. Depending on the breed of bear, sometimes the raspberry is overkill.

Out and about in Idaho I carry

Cats don't bother me and make nice rugs. We have big brown bears around here though and If you ever see a grizzly up close and personal you become highly aware of your own mortality. I hate bears I make it a point to shoot every one I see, one less to sneak up on you later.

I made camp one time after hiking and sat down and got busy stuffing my face with a meal in a bag, looked up after a couple minutes and a grizzly is just standing 10-12 feet away looking at me. Then he huffs at me. Scary? I know I turned every single shade of white known to man. Tossed the food over to him which he was quite pleased with then put 3 shots of hand cannon in his head.
Ruined my dinner and made me hike further up the big furry bastid.

I call bullshit. Pics or it didn't happen :D

I couldn't even imagine killing a bear with a buck 110, but then again if that's all you got there aint nothing to lose in tryin.

Sorry no pics, I was busy being terrified for the only time I can think of. Not scared, being eaten goes waaaay beyond scared.

It was more like ok Sky, bears can move really fast so you better hope he likes stroganoff or were probably dead, just remember 4 for him one for you buddy. Ready, set, heads up furball!

I still don't sit and eat anymore. Quick draw firing that thing from a seated and unbraced position sucked on a very high level. I still dunno how he snuck up on me, they smell like wet dog and are not exactly known for there ninja like stealth abilities.

he told me legal or
Not he would carry his six inch 357 mag anywhere
He heard of bear or big cat
Activity ! As he said he rather
Be alive and pay a fine then
Be mauled and or killed !
Yup. I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6.
IMO, bear+you with knife= you are screwed.
Still, it's nice for coyotes and stuff. Those things are fast and deadly.

This falls sorta into my theory, I think it should be legal to hunt anything anywhere anytime as long as you use a knife. I think it should be open knife season year round on any animal :D Who's down for some big game knife hunting :D

I'd support that, but only if you specify that the game you hunt must weigh more than said knife. Just to keep it fair
