Why don't chris reeve and mick strider do what hinderer does?

It wouldn't be a waste of time. IDK if you guys know this or not but chris reeve is no different then you or me. The only difference is he has a very successful knife company, he is still a normal person. I wouldn't think he would freak out over it, maybe at most give me a rude answer and hang up.

I think they will just assume i don't know why they are where they are, explain it a bit and say that it isnt likely that they will do a colab.

Well why do they close on Friday? Other knife companies are open on Friday. They would make more money if they were open Friday.

Hold the phone. You say "The only difference is he has a very successful knife company" and you are emailing him on how you think he should run his knife company??? Are you seeing the disconnect there?

By the way....you are not going to get an ignorant response from either maker....whatever response will be based on the exact opposite of ignorance about running a knife company.

But see i didnt tell him how to run his company, i explained what i thought why i thought it was positive and then asked about if it was a possibility for the future. I didnt in anyway try to tell him how to run his company, all i did was said my idea and asked him if it was something that he would could or might do in the future.
 
the last bunch of messages are based on a couple things, you may or may not know

1. Chris Reeve has a reputation in the eyes of some consumers as being an ass. A few people have reported that he was rude, accusatory, and condescending when they brought up things about his designs and execution.

2. Mick Strider was forced to admit in court that he did none of the things advertised as being part of his 18 month military career. Prior to that, Strider had a forum presence here. When the SHTF online on a couple occasions, he made comments about killing people with hammers and told customers to lick his sack.

3. Some people are posting not out of knowledge of these things, but ignorance of them. Some are winking and letting you know that you might not get a kind response because it is known that these guys don't always give kind responses. Others are winking and saying you might not get a kind response because they don't know these people and automatically assume that just because they are small business owners that they always have and always will be smarter than anyone who dares to have a different idea. I don't think either business would exist today if they themselves ever held such an opinion about the businesses in place before they started. Notice how it was asked why Gerber doesn't make $400 knives. They used to be the premier US knife manufacturer. Notice how people said that maybe they don't want to be like Buck. Buck is still a well known, oft-copied, and highly marketable brand.

See, nobody knows what they are doing unless you happen to be a fan of them. Any company selling above or below your preferred price level is just doing it wrong.
 
Hey SomeNewGuy, IMHO it's just a waste of time debating/arguing with people on the forums as it just ends up being a slanging match that no one wins, and just leaves a bad taste in your mouth, some people just like to argue for the hell of it, just to piss you off, some people are very brave with a key board in front of them,...Thats what I think anyway....

I did some quick research and found a picture of the two being compared and disassembled. At first when i read the topic i was interested. Then i see crkt put out what looks like a zytel framelock. What are they thinking, now if it was a g10 frame lock i have worked with g10 it is an extraordinarily strond plastic and i could deal with it but ZYTEL really?
