Why Striders? (aka convince me to buy a sng strider)

Screwdriver, whp, and KELAMA, I understand you were trying to point out how poorly HappyDaddy fit in this discussion. Please dont quote trashtalk. It just continues the pollution, the lowering of our conversational standards.

Lower left corner of each post holds a triangle icon. Use that to Report Post. It will send your message to the moderator forum for us to deal with. You may not even see any action. That's between the moderator and person involved. We leave the poor choice of language or behavior for each of you to see what he can be like.

Somewhat of a petty observation. I've owned several in many flavors. It seems the blades always protrude into the lanyard hole. Odd !

From memory the official line is that the lanyard is only meant to go through one side not both, thus avoiding any potential cutting of the lanyard issues. Although I think the 'performance' series relocated the lanyard hole.

I understand. Never even noticed that triangle before. I normally don t involve myself in that kind of discussion.

Hey man. I think to anyone serious about trying to find out if he likes one, and already owns lots of other knives, Hinderer, Chris Reeve etc. that is the logical next step. I have been carrying the same DGG SMF for many years, in plain old S30V and it works well for me, every day. I actually scrubbed it with some frog lube and a wire brush the other day because it got a few small corrosion spots the other day while I was at the range, or yardwork or something, sweated through my clothes and I haven't cleaned the knife in a long time.

Anyway, the SnG is the perfect size. If you want the thickest handles lego is the way to go. The back edges on the CC scales are a little sharp for my tastes and I just like GG the best. No need to get some weird steel, especially if you have to pay extra money for it.

I see you have purchased a used one, and that is a great starting point.

I have had maybe 30-40 Striders over the years and settled on keeping my first, and maybe another one or two around here somewhere. After reading about his crappy past it would have to be a knife I can't live with out to put more money in his pocket. As for my DGG SMF for every day carry I'll see if I can get another 10 years out of it, I don't see why I wouldn't, it is a great knife. I guess the moral of the story is get one if you need to try it out. Keep one if you love it, but I can't see buying every variation of everything the dude comes out with.

Best of luck.

SnG folks , I know I repeat it a lot but that name means something you may not like the man behind the knife but the name has nothing to do with him and deserves to be typed correctly.

THANK YOU Spartan00!! This bears repeating!! It IS very important to write those 3 letters correctly. Like Spartan00 said: it is SnG, and NOT SNG or any permutation there of. Those the letters deserve respect!!!

It's a typo on the strider website trust me . It's not my name to tell the meaning of but it's SnG it's a respect thing ,nothing to do with striders

People can start a debate about it and show me whatever it's SnG . You'll feel pretty silly if you knew what it meant purposefully misspelling it especially around memorial day just saying

Are people still keeping the meaning a secret?
Thought the cat was already out of the bag about that.

I have been typing it wrong for years! Thank you for clearing it up. I've known the meaning, but it never clicked in my head that I've been writing it wrong.

As far as I know a mod somewhere else said a lot on it I'll say what he said .

It's 2 medal of honor reciepents the n in SnG is the word and. S and G (actually thats the name just insert the peoples names )are first letters of dead medal of honor recipients. Mods if it needs to be removed I will

Other places where strider have a presence there's even threads asking to write it SnG . It's just a respect thing that's all
