Why Striders? (aka convince me to buy a sng strider)

SnG or SNG- the important part is the S & The G be capitalized, though as stated the correct is SnG. The n or N in this case is the equivalent of and.

Appericiate that you explained it better than I did . Don't want anyone mistaking me correcting them as anything but educating you .

Knowing the story of who this knife was named after they deserve our respect regardless of how you feel about strider the name has nothing to do with them

Interesting. I actually never knew what it stood for. Why is is a secret?? One would think if it were to honor someone, the name/s should be mentioned???

I believe it was named that to honor them but not be used as a selling point. They did not want to draw attention to it and simply make it look like marketing ploy. Anyway, that's my opinion based on what I have read over the years.

The irony is in the falsehood of the guy making the knives, fake army ranger dedicating a knife model to actual honorable service members.

Thanks for the info Allen, I am a vet and was unaware of what SnG stood for :o

OK, that makes sense. Thanks. :)

This is my understanding. The thoughts behind the naming are the makers. As far as the consumer is concerned it is just the SnG model. It isn't a secret but not something they talk about. The problem is by not telling the back story it just increases the curiosity of the consumer. It also leads to some not knowing that there is a reason for the capitalized letters, while others do. As far as telling or not telling the story, it is a no win situation. If they tell it, people will claim they are trying to profit from the individuals honor. If they don't tell the story, people have to know.

I can't take it anymore. Especially on Memorial Day. Randy Shughart and Gary Gordon are their names. Not they and them.

Both warriors earned the Congressional Medal of Honor in October 1993 during the infamous "Blackhawk Down" incident.

Stop talking about respect without using their names!

Shughart and Gordon correct ! Feels weird typing it though . It was Mick IIRC that said to watch the movie black hawk down and you would learn who the knife was named after .

Guys, SnG or SNG or sng is the name of the knife I think you can type it any way you want. We all know you are talking about a knife and your intent isn't to disrespect anyone.

Shughart and Gordon are Heros and if we are talking about them we should use their names. These Heros deserve utmost respect and we should use their names when taking about them to honor them.

If anyone gets angry about calling a knife the wrong name, well that's just stupid and only "disrespectful" maybe to the maker. We all know you are taking about a knife and anyone who feels disrespected by someone's typo needs to get a grip lol

And before you flame me for feeling this way, Shughart and Gordon and thousands of other Heros died to defend this country and its beliefs, one of these beliefs is my right to say what I think!
