Will there be a 2017 forum knife?

Looks like this is coming together fast! Will it be possibe to do just a couple of polls, like type of micarta and carbon/stainless steel?

Edit to change my question because the blade shape was predetermined to be a sheepsfoot:thumbup:

That's amazing Charlie!!! You can count me in for 2 one for me and one for my father for his birthday I get him a cool knife every year

Lambsfoot no- I understand the historical and interesting aspect of the lambsfoot but if Im honest ...and I dont want to ruffle anyones feathers or stir up dissent- I'll be there at the finish line cheering it on. Lambsfoots are a bit like buying a half worn out blade. A bit like like paying for jeans that are ripped already.

I always thought the 2013 was paper micarta.

This was a response to the idea of skipping a poll on handle material, and I just wanted to second the response.

For me at least, the polls are a big part of the fun. Going too wild with options and polls on everything is obviously a recipe for misery, but it is nice to get a feel for how the community actually feels about the options.

That said, I like micarta!

Jeans that are pre-ripped up cost about 4 times what nice new unripped jeans cost, so apparently it must add value.

The 2013 Congress Jack was a white paper Micarta.

I don't know if I should feel good about being right for once or bad because a few days ago I was driving my 13 year old and 2 of his mates home and they were perving at a foxy young chick at the lights -she was wearing tastefully ripped jeans -no really tasteful- and I suggested they should get jobs as jean rippers.Someone has to be doing it. Unbelievable.

If we get tartan micarta (Micartan (reg tm ) :p) It has to have leather patches in place of a shield.preferably well worn leather that has been rippe-oh no here we again.
 
This micarta TC Barlow sounds fantastic, I haven't had a forum knife since 2014, and haven't had a TC Barlow since the American Walnuts, but this makes me excited enough to throw my hat in. I do greatly prefer long pulls to nail nicks, and when it comes to micarta lighter the better, not fussy on colors, but, I am sure the finished piece will sit beautifully in my pocket regardless of materials and configuration.

Thanks again Charlie, and anyone else involved, or who will be involed at a later date. Looking forward to seeing this progress and getting the chance to cast some votes in the polls. That's the best part of the forum knives, feeling connected to a knife sitting in your pocket, even if it's just by voicing your opinion and preferences in a tiny way, community is a great feeling.

Here's the trick about ripped up jeans - they only look good on beautiful young models (or young people who are sufficiently attractive to be suitable to be models). My age and size, just means you're a bum.

I thought we were doing Harris tweed micarta sourced from artisan sheep in the Hebrides?

I'm in for one whatever the handle material, steel, and nail nick shape.

I know there were several people wanting to explore other options for the forum knife but how can you get any better than Charlie and Gec . Big thanks to everyone involved ! Excited to see how it all pans out .
 
I would love to grab a forum knife this year as i just became a member in good (paying) standing. Is there an official sign up or fund or should I just wait until the vendors announce stock and snatch one up?
 
I'm excited about all of it! I'm in on one can't wait! Will be my first TC if I can land one...I like the idea of regulars of the Traditional sub forum getting a chance first.

I do like a Barlow with micarta.


Light colored or blue denim micarta would look great.
