Will there be a 2017 forum knife?

No hurries No worries.
Anyway I suggest we use the time wisely to come up with some even more preposterous ideas of things to create micarta out of...how bout old credit cards?:p

Could you do something with layers of lamb's hooves? You know, a sheepsfoot blade with a sheep's foot micarta?

... i'll just show myself out.

If I don't have a #15 in my watch pocket, I have a Stag Jack #77 in it. This TC Barlow should fit right in.

One way to really set this one aside from the TC Barlows would be to have the run done in 440C. I'd love it, but I'm not in any way trying to create strife. Just throwin a couple pennies into the fountain of if wishes were horses stream of consciousness :)

Well I know that I would certainly like that, but I know most of the crowd here seems to like carbon steel. I am glad that the 2015 was stainless though, since that has meant that the 2015 has been a frequent carry for me ever since. I like stainless myself. My general attitude is that I am going to buy a forum knife in any case, so getting exactly what I want isn't a deal maker for me.

I just hope we get to vote on something at some point. The best part of the knife for me is feeling that I had some voice in how it turned out.

If the powers that be decide 440C is a plausible option I have a feeling the vote would be very close.

I don't know the logistics of the process, but if it's an option running the same knife in both steels would be fantastic. Fans of stainless get what they want, fans of 1095 get what they want, and we all get a great forum knife.

I tend to agree.

Additionally, stainless makes a lot of sense because 1.It's never been used on the TC Barlow range so that would help differentiate it from the regular short runs which are always carbon. 2. Because it's likely to be Micarta which is a tough material, this mates well with stainless in wet situations, fishing, food prep, humid conditions etc. But I don't think it will happen or be offered, GEC (BH) doesn't seem to be keen on stainless at all....

I cast my vote for an obsidian blade. Can't get more traditional and it hasn't been done on a TC before.

And no etch.
