WINNERS CHOSEN! 5 DAY GIVEAWAY!!! User Challenge!

Last spring a big limb fell out of the neighbor's oak tree onto our front lawn. I eventually got it all cleaned up, and kept a branch to turn into a walking stick/staff. I've worked on it for a couple minutes every week or two since then. I kept it on the patio behind our house up until a couple of weeks ago when I brought it into the basement along with some other "seasonal" items that shouldn't be outside all winter. I saw it recently and used my trapper to work a little more on smoothing out some of its knots.

This thread is fantastic, every knife in my collection is a user, so it's been really cool to see everyone putting their knives to good use! I dunno about everyone else, but now I'm hungry for steak and donuts!

Thanks to JonMcD JonMcD for putting on such an awesome and generous giveaway, after a short break from the porch when my daughter was born it feels good to be active again, although my wallet usually suffers when I spend too much time browsing the "what are ya totin today" thread 😆

Today my knife started the morning off with a bit of a splash, I think the message was "don't bother me until I've had my coffee!" Then I went on to harvest some meyer lemons from our baby lemon tree

Congratulations on your daughter!!! 🥳🥳 my wife is getting induced into labor right after Xmas and I cant wait to meet my son. :)
Not to be rude and ruin your happy times....but...you're stirring your coffee all wrong.... 😁 lol

This has been one of the most fun giveaways to participate in! Thanks for hosting this.

Inspired by great carnivores the likes of Ellis Wyatt Ellis Wyatt I decided to give my Trapper a taste of steak 🥩
I don't cook steak very often myself however I've had very good results in the past.
This one here though was a bit tough and harder to chew but it did hit the spot :)

Looks good to me! Your more typical pictures of fresh fish cooked over a fire look great to me too. It is hard to beat some good fresh fish, especially cooked fresh on an open flame.

Well, Gentlemen (and birdsbeaks birdsbeaks ) -- it's Friday!! The office has literally exhausted my mental capacity (think teaspoon), and I've ran out of stupidity creative ideas. Just wanted to give a big thanks to JonMcD JonMcD for making it happen!! He is truly one of most generous dudes I know. Jon, you da man! 👊

I've had a blast "cuttin' up" with ya'll!! :D

Well, Happy Friday everyone! Thank you JonMcD JonMcD for this very generous and fun GAW! This is the first group contest like this that I have participated in, and I learned a few things along the way:
1) The Porch members use their knives in a huge variety of ways, mostly food prep!
2) Their knives go on a lot of adventures and see some amazing scenery!
3) Carrying the same knife for 5 days straight is a LOT harder than I thought it would be! (I had others with me, but only used the Lambsfoot.
4) Jack Black Jack Black no longer likes eggs 🤣
5) I think that I really need to find my own Peckerwood! Thanks Boattale Boattale :)

Here are my pictures for today:

And here is a before and after of the brand new M. May Lambsfoot in Bog Oak that I used this week:

I took the "After" picture in the same place, 5 days later:

Thanks again JonMcD JonMcD ! I really enjoyed the week, and am amazed by your generosity!
Good luck to everyone!

My wife let me know that a single lady with some small children needs help with Christmas gifts, my part is to assemble a child's bicycle - child’s play (I hope!!). Me and some trusty tools are getting started this afternoon in the garage (I think it was a bit cool to fish anyway). OH

The weather has been pretty awful in South Florida the past couple days with constant rain and winds up to 37 mph. Temperature is 72⁰F, so at least it isn't hot - I'm certainly not going to be posting any of those classic "knife in snow" pictures.

Im assuming that the current weather must be a lot like how it is in the tropical rainforests of the Philippines, because the only residents that seem pleased with it are the carnivorous pitcher plants.

I took the opportunity, during a lull in the rain, to run out and use The Rider to trim off some of the dead pitchers (in the background there) that had accumulated on the vine.

No action shot today, as trimming these things is definitely a two-handed job - as wispy as their tendrils appear, they are ridiculously difficult to sever.

JonMcD JonMcD , thank you for the opportunity - it's been a blast! This has easily been the most fun I've had on BF. My takeaway from this is that it is sometimes valuable to slow down and really experience something in your life on a deeper level than usual. Sometimes, I've been so wrapped up in what knife I'm gonna stick in my pocket tomorrow, that I miss an opportunity to appreciate the one that's in my pocket today. Instead of many different knives in my pocket this week, I found out how many varied uses I can find for a single one. Again, thank you.

I had to go back into the hospital yet again, what do you mean you are bored with the story how do you think I feel? 🤭

They wired me up for a 24hr ECG.

I will let the photos do the talking of the comedy, coffee and cables.;)

No I wasnt the comedian who placed the electrode connector on the sign. 😁

Friday has come and the stag lamb has made it over 5 days in the pocket actually.

At the moment, I'm sitting in my favorite chair getting ready for the weekend... eating..... an apple of course!
IMG_20231215_163204102_HDR.jpg

First thing this morning, the lamb helped repair a pew kneeler... Just because I didn't feel like walking half a mile to get a screwdriver. These things don't take any torque to install so I just used the blade
IMG_20231215_141100756_HDR.jpg I finished up the outdoor nativity... All of these figures had to be strapped down with nylon strapping and screws because some lovely people like to relocate the figures... From time to time... Last year we found the animals about a mile away. Jagoffs.
anyways, knife cut all the straps as shows yesterday, removed some staples and open hay bales. Just normal stuff

Later in the day replaced some exterior lights where knife did knife things as well. Scraped a lot of old wasp nest out of here.

Nice new light

That about covers the adventures of the lambsfoot for today.

It's been fun reading the thread all week! Have a good weekend everyone!

I'm sorry to hear about your ongoing health issues. I hope you get everything fixed up properly.

On a lighter note I'm not sure what kind of adventures you've been on.... Delicious looking food, sharks crashing into roofs?!?!.... What is going on??? 🤣
