Wife carries a Zt560 I don't have a pic of her in uniform with the knife, but she does carry it.

Me I carry a Zt561 among other things

depending on the day and what I'm doing it varies.

I don't usually care for modern knives, but that little brown one is very nice!

To be honest, I get much worse on my youtube channel and my news articles i post from trolls because I post very controversial news things. So normally it does not bother me. It only bothers me here because this is fun time..and I don't expect such attacks. I browsed these threads with my boyfriend well before I joined and was always intrigued, which is why I joined. So I never truly expected rudeness from anyone or hatred. Thanks for commenting, B34NS. Enjoy! And if you think of anything that might be useful to people to post here, please share...as I'm sure you know quite a bit about knives :) Your expertise? Advice? Thoughts?

Eh the internet is still the wild west.

I'm all for ladies being more included in knife culture. A lot of ladies I've known over the years have made their livings with knives as chefs. This is a great community with a lot of willingness to share information and it's always great to have fresh perspectives.

I have a nice Case Peanut with a Carbon Steel blade... Someone was telling me that I should patina the blade on it as it does not really have any patina on it. I wanted to take a good knife photo of it yesterday, but it was too late when I finally got out and too dark. I'm thinking my next folder will probably be a Case as there are quite a number of them I really like when I was browsing their website.

Patina..... just makes a new looking knife look old. That is something that I can not understand although some say that having the patina helps to protect the blade from rusting.

One good thing about Case is that you can find them at hardware stores, farm and home stores, etc. I'm a handle before I buy kind of person. All the knife pictures and reviews make me want to buy more knives but I don't know if I'd like them...

If you're wanting a patina on it a potatoe works really good. And if you can possibly afford one you might consider a GEC slip joint you won't be disappointed. ..

You can get a great patina by just using the knife everyday to cut up fruit and veggies.
I used an opinel to cut a daily apple and orange plus for dinner prep and it's nifty looking and well set.

Good luck!

Thanks for the information... I know vinegar can do it or citrus... but I'll have to try that !

Thanks..I had no idea you could do that with a potato! Cool! Yeah, as I just mentioned here in another reply, I purchased a TON of knives today..one is a Case that's very sweet..and some of them have the types of blades (Carbon) that will patina nicely!

I didn't know that. I went to Amazon because I have Prime and I went to a few other sites. Got quite a few nice ones today..can't wait to see them in person!

Patina is very nice..makes the knife look more rustic!

If you routinely carry a knife in a hand bag of some sort, a fixed blade could easily be included in the hunt for the next knife. The easy and inexpensive answer to that is Mora. The Companion is one of my fav's.

I'll be uploading some nice knife photos here soon! Can't wait to share them!

14 knives?? You're going to get them all at once and be like a kid on Christmas morning!:)

I'm the same way. I did try to patina a blade once, to cover a spot of rust I could not remove.

I bought my wife several knives / multitools. She likes and uses the small ones (Leatherman Style, Victorinox Rambler) because she finds them convenient to carry and the other tools useful.

I got her a Kershaw Leek as well. Not only does she not carry it but she doesn't remember what she did with it.

No difference in the behavior of most men, really. If they see the utility of it, they'll carry it. If not, they won't. Not everyone gets interested in knives or other tools beyond their basic utility.

Personally I go for the utility aspect as well. My daily carry is a Victorinox Cadet along with a small Leatherman tool, and perhaps another Case or Buck slipjoint. However, I enjoy the variety of styles and patterns and am into knives as a hobby, so I have way more than I really need.
