World War I Navy Issue Knife

Another look at that jigged bone!

Beautiful. You'd think they re-started that old jigging machine in Rockfall, CT.

If this is an "issue" knife, there should be some type of military specification to bid the contract. Is that available?

Thanks, Jack. No cap-lifter, unfortunately, but the can opener will work in a pinch.

Yeah, I guess they figured that a can-opener was more important, and while, as you say, a can-opener can usually be used to open bottles, the reverse isn't the case

Great knives everyone.

Can't pass-up the opportunity to show-off the British Admiralty pattern 301.

Here's another Camillus. Probably made closer to WWII than WWI.

Very nice Al, those look fantastic  Congratulations to Charlie and GEC for reviving another great pattern

OMG. Those Bails are simply awesome. I had this dumb idea of taking one ( if I may be so lucky to get one ) and get a jeweller to make something look like Rope- BUT NO WAY! They look smashing.

So what do yall like more the case red or antique amber? They have both pictured on get web site?

I'm not a fan of red. I like both the antique colors quite a bit. I was concerned the antique yellow might be too much yellow, but they look great. Although I'm not a fan of red I like the way the red sailors turned out because it's not overly bright red.

I had this dumb idea I was going to remove the bail...

I am really, really, really looking forward to these knives. I lust after the yellow and amber, but I am undecided on the red. I really really like the bail and bolster on these; however, there is nothing more appealing to me than The Lone Star's version. I cannot wait! I will have some eye candy on Friday though, and I'll post them when they arrive.

I think what really appeals to me about these knives is - they way they look like a butcher in modern folders. I'm a Northwoods kind of guy, but these knives have me excited.

Here's the photo I tried to load earlier:

Only about 200 Tidioutes made in four covers on this run.

Saw this on facebook from a gentleman who visited the GEC factory.
More in detail than the photos that GEC provides although with harsh flash. Those rope bails and bolsters are the star of this knife.

That jigging is the best part for me. Looks far better than all jigged bone GECs I have seen this far.
