Sechip, In talking with the guy who knows yanks personally did his age ever come up? As stated earlier by another member there are quite a few things he posted that make him sound either very young, or very immature.

I hope you get a full refund and maybe yanks will learn a lesson, though I don't see the consequences being severe enough to scare him off trying again. Yanks seems to me to still be trying to cover lies with lies as the brother/cousin/friend excuse comes up all the time online when bad deeds come to light.

I almost feel compelled (of course with respect to people with actual dependency issues) to start a new business: the "My Addict Brother's Scapegoat Service" where, for a nominal fee, misdirection and pseudo-clemency can be bought for the feel-good path of forgiveness and empathy. Leave personal respect at the door; all are welcome to dabble in the world of lies, mistrust, connivance and greed. Be careful of people wearing only one sock.

I work for post office. Yanks wouldn't have a chance with the postal inspectors.
 
OP has not gotten the money yet, let's hope yanks returns it, what is point posting and blasting yanks now ? Are you helping op, are you willing to give op the $1000 if yanks bails ? Yanks says he will fix and that is all op should want at the moment.

I could not agree more, he has admitted culpability and i know it sounds fishy but i really don't want to get the guy turned around again so if you could please refrain from the bashing that would be greatly appreciated.
I know i'm the one who started the thread and i was pretty animated but right now the bashing is not doing me any good and i will update the thread as soon as i hear from Ryan.... hopefully this morning. Thanks again.

Not bashing.

Cave Johnson and I went through this on a much smaller scale with Cburgerjr. I finally got my knife, but I believe CJ is still missing his stuff. That was years ago......
 
That was a goodnight sleep. See bashing him or not he just admitted he screwed you over in here. He MUST give you the money back or here is all the proof in the world for the postal inspectors to bring his ass to jail. It is either him giving you the money or whomever tried to screw around with your MO is getting brought up to the authorities...brother or not brother you have the proof in writing and you will get your money back. Trust me the smartest thing to whomever was involved in this is to give you the cash back, dig a hole, get in it and never get out. If he was going to give you the money back no matter what happened here he will give you the money back. If he hasn't that shows his true colours.
 
I suspect there never was a MSC. Obviously this fellow took photos of that knife and the Medford off of other websites. Classic bait and switch. Pure fraud.

I've heard of this kind of thing happening before but never seen it play out like this.

Always good to look closely at the photos and even ask for additional ones, especially with an expensive knife. Those pix were obviously pro photos and most people's do not look like that.

A quick Google of MSC SnG found the origin of the photos--literally almost the first image: so this guy is not only a scammer but a lazy scammer.

I hope you get your money back sechip. You did not deserve this kind of grief.

Also added treeshaker to ignore. No time for jerks like that.

Just read through this whole thing and talk about bad decisions all around..

I remember in high school this kid decided it would be good a idea to vandalize the local post office, he was arrested a week later.. Federal crimes are no joke, if it was me i would turn him in.

And I believe that was the best part for the OP. Though PayPal does refund, etc., but a clever thief can always close his paypal account, and there is not much that can be done. With postal MO, it's a different ball game.
