yerscattergun is a SCAMMER!!!

I contacted him and he wouldn't even work
with me to fix things and now he's on this forum
ruining my reputation and posting personal info.
There is something not right here...

So what are you going to do to fix this as it sits? That is the issue, not what happened, not what everyone thinks or said, rather the way the problem is sitting at this moment. Shipping knives in that price range in a bubble wrap envelope is not a good idea for obvious reasons. Priority Flat rate with insurance & tracking would have run about $13.

That is the package I sent him allright, I've shipped in
envelopes many times before and never had any problems.
I'm looking at pics of the envelope and it appears the outer
envelope was cut open twice, once under the label and on
The side. The inner package was sliced it appears in the same manner.
I'm thinking the package was sliced open at the package store,
but I could be wrong.

yerscattergun, do you happen to have your reciept from payment for shipping that would have a matching tracking number and a different weight listed? Posting a pic of your shipping reciept would go a long way for you here.

I can't work with the guy. He aired my personal info already
and I think that isn't right. I will work with Paypal
with whatever evidence they need to insure he gets his money
back through them. But I do not trust him because of his
instantaneous accusations and not letting me handle this
man to man. Since he's making irrational accusations, here's
What I think; I'm starting to believe he got the knife and is wanting
to get paid by Paypal too. I've heard Paypal usually takes the side
of the buyer in most of these disputes. I'm sure he knows that
too.
But I wouldn't post his personal info here and open him
and is family up to privacy and safety concerns.
I think this demonstrates what kind of person we're dealing
with here.

If the seller didn't keep a copy of the receipt for shipping that is pretty damning evidence... I know I keep records of everything I ship out until I know the transaction went smooth. The package is weighed in front of you, no reason it should have been so light.

And what about the false name and nonexistent address issues? I don't know what went on here, but yerscattergun seems more concerned about his image than he does the alleged facts of the problem. A strictly emotional appeal with no concern for evidence screams scam to me.

I have the receipt, and it does say .1 lb.
What is strange is that if it says the package weighed
.1 lb, why wound they charge almost $12 shipping?

And no, I don't remember the Fed Ex clerk weighing
the package in front of me at all. I do remember she was
very busy and the only one working that morning.

Maybe she keyed it in wrong? Oh maybe there was something
nefarious going on? I don't know, but the knife was sent as I
have many knives before.

Unfortunately for you this is all the evidence that is needed... the proof is that the knife you sold was not weighed in the package you shipped.

yerscattergun,
I don't want to quote you to death but here are some opinions of mine after reading your posts.

Just because you have been a member here for awhile with good feedback doesn't mean to much. There has been more than one " established member " on here with a lot more feedback than you that turned out to be a scammer for whatever reason.

You act like because he posted your personal info on here that's grounds for you to wash your hands of the situation and let paypal deal with it, personal info or not it's still YOUR problem to fix.

I have sold multiple knives on here in the $300 to $700 range, any time I do that I ship overnight. All those packages that get shipped that way, the box is super glued shut, flats and corners taped, I also put tape over the addresses so there is know chance that the addresses can be altered, removed, tampered with etc. I ship overnight because I figure the less time my package is in the USPS system the less time that something could happen to it. For you to ship a knife of that value regardless of how many times you have done that before is just plain stupid and lazy.

After looking at the weight on the receipt, there wasn't any Hinderer in that package when it got mailed despite what you say.

I don't know if it was or wasn't weighed but that's assumes
as the buyer did, the worst about a member in good standing.
I know the XM24 was in the package when shipped and I have no
control over what happens when I hand it over.
These things happen all the time with USPS, Fed Ex and
UPS. This is the first time anything like this has ever happened,
and I've sold a lot of knives here and on other forums.
It's unfortunate that this happened but it's even worse that
the buyer didn't even let me work to a resolution instead
of throwing me under the bus, and jeaperdizing my privacy
and safety. That is a sad way to treat another human being.

Wait a second, are you the victim here then?

Why does the sender have two names? Why does the sender's address appear to be a shopping mall?
Why is the envelope cut below the label, and did it arrive like that?
If it arrived cut open and empty, why was it signed for?

You sales thread says you will ship insured so what is the problem? Refund the buyers money and file an insurance claim for yourself.

Not an accusation, but if people are claiming you have two names, and that the address listed is non-existent, can you explain how your personal info was compromised? How can members know that the listed info is your actual address or not?

I personally think there are elements of the story missing from both parties.

Absolutely , I'm out of an expensive
knife and going to be out of $550
because Paypal will take it from my account.
He's not loosing anything.
I lost a knife, $550 and great feedback
here.

You have said repeatedly that your a member in good standing... some how I think that has changed.

Also what resolution are you looking for ?

As shaving sharp pointed out, you said in your for sale thread you would ship insured, the ONLY resolution there needs to be is for you to refund Fordsnstuff his money and you file a claim, end of story.

Is it possible the knife is at the local FedEx distribution center?
Two weeks ago I purchased a knife from a member and when it arrived in the mail, the package was actually delivered empty and the top of the mailing bubble envelope was completely sliced open across the width of the envelope. A day later the knife showed up in a layer of bubble wrap at the post office. I have no idea how it arrived or how the post office linked the knife with my address.

I didn't even think of that, thank you. I'll check on
that with Fed Ex. It's nice to hear something constructive
instead of the piling on that goes on here.
