You been burned? Don't trust anyone now? Then quit trading!

Everything is in motion, It is just the whole waste of time that make me boil over......all good Rev!

I know the feeling of frustration that time wasted brings, believe me. The offer stands, if you need some help or whatever, let us know. Like I mentioned before, for every one person that flakes out there are a few dozen if no more solid folks that do honor their word.

...

Sorry for you bad experience, at least you never had a knife stolen from you.

All this being said......it's "you're", not "your".

...

Really? ;)

Anyways, my personal opinion on it is that when you say "deal" and exchange information for shipping, it's too late. To me, that's the same as selling a knife, and then deciding you want it back or buying a knife and deciding you want your money back. If the knife has already been shipped, you need to send yours and then start looking for a replacement for it if you want another.

i usually stick to trading with people who have paid memberships. tends to weed out the non serious or "training wheels" situations . doesnt always work but i can count how many bad trade experiences ive had on here on one hand and have been trading for over three years. if your not ready to deal with other people being picky or dealing with the occasional flat tire, dont trade just buy from reputable sources. good luck , i hope you get your blade back and are able to find another good member to trade with.

I think the person was burned so bad maybe its ruined for them, I really dont get the feel that they would take it. To be honest thought he was kind of a good guy!

All will be good. I dont think he is the Stealing type, Just got ripped off and way to over cautious now. I just hope he can get over the former burn and trading gets fun again.

I agree with you, but whatever. I have always worked out the details, and both ship at the same time. I always exchange phone numbers, facebook, and stuff like that. I guess the person had a high value knife stolen from him. I can see why he is the way he is. At the same time you cant go about things like you are a special and unique snowflake and have people bend over backwards for you.

GRAMMAR NAZI!!!!!
I cant wait for the day when people stop editing comments and posts like we are writing a novel....

I totally agree with you, it was the whole excited about the trade and then I had to ship first because they didn't trust me.( other trades we both shipped at the same time so this should of been my warning.. BUT I----guess I just had to trust them even though they did't trust me. They received my knife and sent it back. It was in a box that they can not leave at my place so im going to have a nice drive across San Diego to pick it up. YYAAAAAAYYY SoCal traffic, but traffic wont be bad since im going to have to take off work.... YAAAAAY more money lost...and I Havent gotmy blade back yet. Far as I know it was stolen.... But that's the risk with trades.....IF YOU CANT HANDLE A LITTLE RISK , DONT TRADE. It is the down side of being a cheap ass, hahahahahahah

Funny thing is that risk is everywhere. Barracade yourself in your house and unplug your computer.

Just browsing threads, and I could really care less, but it sounds to me like maybe YOU shouldn't trade heathen! You got ISSUES!

No, you got it wrong. A true business MAN! And I have no problem with returns, or customers changing they're minds!

The difference is you are a business. A trader is someone who wants to barter.

I owned my own Buisness, and I had tough times with people paying off there bills. But since a few people were delinquent/Didnt pay off there outstanding balance. I didn't make it harder for others to do business with me. You got to take the good with the bad. I found the good people out in the world outweigh the bad.

It is quite different Bob. You are comparing apples to rubber boots here. As the owner of a business you are held to different standards than a private individual or casual trader.

GRAMMAR NAZI!!!!!

Heil Grammer ;)

Sorry, but had an anal French professor in college for writing. Burned many of writing traits into me

I'd been drinking :o , but nice catch  :)

So related story. I sold a Busse Combat Culti around a year ago, maybe closer to a year and a half. I forget the buyer's name except he was in Ohio. I sold the knife as mint and unused. Shipped the knife, he received it, all was well, for about 2 seconds. Somehow I missed a finishing mark on the micarta scales where it left a nasty "ledge", plus there was some super light scuffs near the tip, hard to see but there.

I work with and on guns for a living so I'm usually good about nit picking stuff hard core, messed up screw heads, blueing/nickel marks, wood flaws, checking dents, etc. but somehow I let that slip. I refunded the buyer on faith he was right (which he was when I received the knife back), and he was more than generous and paid for shipping on the way back to me even though with the flaws he didn't have to.

So anyway, even with a lot of good experiences, there are going to be some bad. Just like regular life. This is our hobby, our passion, some times we win, some times we loose. In the end though, we just have to enjoy it

Sorry, couldn't resist. Sucks about your trade not going well.

Found out he did not ship it back just refused the package.?.?.?. Now due to the tracking limitations I have no idea whats going on with the box. My guess Im out my Benchmade. He was burned once, so now he burns another. Hope that makes him feel better. What a douche.

Here's an idea , DONT TRUST RANDOM PEOPLE ON THE DAMN INTERNET , it's amazing what a little common sense can do
