pretty well any case slip joint, 30-45$ will get you a beautiful and high quality knife. For modern tactical folders, Kershaw is king when it comes to quality for a good price.

Ulster boy scout knife
Kershaw Skyline
Spyderco Tenacious
Case Peanut and Med. Stockman

More and more lately i've been buying expensive knives, I'm in love with anything Busse puts out but going through my collection of users, i've found two that I love, that would be considered cheap. My favorite mora has seen more camp use than any knife I own, and my rat izula has been through several lifetimes. What are your favorite cheap knives? I've got a total of probably 60 dollars invested in the two which is the price of a kydex sheath for the knives i've been into lately, and they have served me quite well.

That's a beautiful Izula. I wouldn't call the Izula cheap though. I'd call it a steal.

I've been loving my Tenacious and my Case Sodbuster Jr.

Tenacious - $35 NIB at a Gun Show
Case Sodbuster Jr. - Free from forum member :D

CRKT Triumph... love that knife and Cold Steel Recon Scout.

Great little beater those, i cut all the tassels off mine though and keep it in my car.
For me it would be the carbon opinel 8 that I've edc'd for about the last 4 or 5 months now. It replaced a d2 para in my pocket and i must say its cutting ability would be nearly on par with the para. Gets crazy sharp and keeps a good edge. Not quite as strong as the para, but a lot lighter and way more sheeple friendly.
The Svord peasants as well, especially the plastic handled ones, great little friction folder for cheap.
I'd really like to put down Condor Rodan here but I haven't been able to get hold of one :P

NAVY folders from the Chineese maker that does the Byrd line for Spyderco. I have 3 compression locks and one liner locking folder that is a STELLAR folder no matter how you cut it! I have edc'd it exclusively for about 5 wks and the thing is just a very well made knife. I paid more for shipping from Singapore than I paid for the knife. Hardened s.s. bolsters and I am tellin ya a very very good quality of build and 440c that seems to be done right. keepem sharp

My favorite cheap ones are,

Kershaw O So Sweet $26.99
Kershaw OD-1 $34.99
Spyderco Tenacious $29.99
CRKT G-10 Drifter $17.99

Sorry, I don't know if I can be much help, I bought the black one at a gun show about 14 years ago and the only markings on it are asian characters. The stainless one was origianally black as well, I bought it at a local Scheels sporting goods store, and it is made or at least sold by United if that helps.

-when new they are all black with cord wrapped handles that aren't very comfy, but if you make your own handle and reprofile the edge they make fantastic all purpose machetes!!! and they come with nice versital sheaths that can be worn across the back or on the hip.

The ones sold by Cabelas are close but not quite the same, they look thinner, with a shallow grind, and have a very blunt tip on them....

Opinel No. 6. To me there's a difference in inexpensive and cheap. The Opinel certainly isn't cheap. It's not only my favorite knife in a certain price range, it's quickly becoming one of my favorite knives overall.
