Your first Spyderco and what you own now?

My first was a UKPK, followed by a Para and a Millie.

More pics are needed indeed.

Just got my first Spyderco Native III today .. first impressions - I love it! I suspect there will be a few more Spydies joining the fold in the future.

It will be joining a CKRT M4-03 and Kershaw Blur as my EDC knives.

1st was a ladybug. 2nd a digicam paramilitary. 3rd is probably going to be a chokwe.

My first Spyderco was purchased about 3 years ago and was a Native with an S30V and FRN handles. I didn't like this one! To fat for its light weight, felt cheap...so I gave it to one of my Buddies and he loves it. I followed with a G10 VG10 Endura (I love it) and my last was a Sage II.

I've got a Para and Mini-Manix that I absolutely love. I think I have maybe a dozen Spydercos. I refuse to collect them. (I fear the financial demise of my checkbook if I start)...so they are all in the EDC box but really the ones getting used the most are:

1. Sage II - this knife may never leave my pocket!! I'm delighted with this design.
2a. Para
2b. Mini Manix
4. G2 CF Stretch
5. Native IV

I guess I should say I'm delighted with them all and feel kinda funny that I say "I love" so much when I talk about my Spydies but......

My first was a serrated Tenacious. My current collection:
-Serrated Tenacious
-Sage 2
-Stretch 2 VG-10
-Manix 2

I've also owned:
-Caly3
-JD Smith Sprint
-Lum Chinese

The ones I don't like are:
-Tenacious
-Lum Chinese

There are a few others that I can't see myself owning, but I can't really think of them off of the top of my head. There aren't any that I dislike that I haven't tried out, but if I tried every Spyderco I'm sure I'd come across a few.

I'm currently most looking forward to the TI Military and FRN UKPK.

um Chinese

The ones I don't like are:
-Tenacious
-Lum Chinese

curious why you don't like the tenacious.

it's not my first pick for pocket use. mostly because of it's heftiness, but i think it's a great knife. first one in my jeans for some yard work.

First one for me was the Gray Caly, Jr...which belongs to my gf now. Currently I have 4 Spyderco knives...

Tasman Salt - black pe
Salt I - yellow pe
Ladybug Salt - pe

...and just found an older red SE Ladybug @ the flea market for $10 the other day.

My first Spydie was the original Police model, with full spyderedge and aluminum handles. Sweet knife! :D

Since then, I've added a few more spydies to my collection. Right now I've got:

  • Centofante 4 - plain edge & black FRN handles
  • Co-Pilot - plain edge & Almite handles
  • Delica - combo edge & black FRN handles
  • Delica - combo edge & foliage green FRN handles
  • Delica - combo edge & stainless handles
  • Delica - combo edge ZDP-189 & british racing green FRN handles
  • Dragonfly - plain edge & foliage green G-10
  • Hossom Dayhiker - plain edge & green micarta handles
  • Impala - plain edge & black G-10 handles
  • Ladybug - plain edge & foliage green FRN handles
  • Ladybug - plain edge H1 & yellow FRN handles
  • Lum Tanto - plain edge & black micarta handles
  • Military - plain edge & orange G-10 handles
  • Military - plain edge & camo G-10 handles
  • Navigator - spyderedge & grey aluminum handes
  • Perrin Street Beat - plain edge & black micarta handles
  • P'Kal - plain edge & black G-10
  • Police - spyderedge & aluminum handles
  • Yojimbo - plain edge & blue G-10 handles
Yikes! I guess that's quite a few. :o

my first was the Delica 4, and since I've added an Endura 4, both plain edge. I love the Delica as my EDC because its so lightweight.

My first was a Calypso Jr, which I no longer have (gave it to my nephew). But I now have a CF Caly 3, UKPK (black), regular Military, regular Para, D2 Para, and Native.

my first was a D2 para- I fell in love with this knife. handle is great, love the comp lock, love the tip down carry, love how a bit sticks out of pocket allowing easy retrieval. also blade shape is great, my favorite part is the pointy tip, its just great!

second was a waved Endura 4 with spyderedge- also a great knife, love the wave and spyderedge, this one is a workhorse for sure, also a great SD knife (as a last resort of course)

Third was an S30V para, digicam scales- gotta say, so far i'm liking the s30v more than the D2. i like the FG scales a bit more though. i think plain translucent scales would look great!

most recent is a Sage 2- This knife is awesome. I feel like I'm cheating on the paras when I hold this knife... Fit and finish on this taiwan blade was better than on my s30v para! has deeper choils than the para, really locks into your hand. tip up is a downside for me, but the wire clip is great, so I can deal with it, knife carries very discreetly, something that isn't possible with a para or millie.

my dream spyderco would be a Ti frame/comp lock (ala ATR) with a tip down wire clip (in the same position)

First was an old Endura plain edge with the FRN clip.
Then I got a SS handled one.
These didn't work great for me being left handed so as soon as the Delica 3 came out I snagged one.
That same Delica has been in my pocket ever since. It's half serrated. Though it didn't stop me from buying more.
Over the years I've picked up another SS Endura, 2 Standards. One PE and the other fully serrated.
Years ago when I heard the Delica was changing I went to the local shop and bought his stock of D3's. I have 9 now I think. Also a couple of Salt 1's.

Couple weeks ago I came across an old Delica and Merlin in a little junk store. Both with FRN clips. $5 a piece. :) Neither looks like it's been carried. Gave the Delica away to a friend that lost his.

Got a Persistence a few weeks ago. Little too bulky compared to my Delica.
However after all this time I decided to give the D4 a shot. Last Wed I ordered 5 of them. Hehe. 2 green, 1 black and 1 white. All combo edge. They came today. Very pleased with them. Ordered two PE today along with a Temperance.

Just need to go get the right sized torx bit to swap the clip for lefty carry.

My first Spyderco was a PE Native, which still gets pocket time to this day. I have around 50 others and the count continues. I have found that the more I use them, the better they get.

I pretty much like all the models except for the Delica, Endura, Lum and the Captain, which I have never been able to warm up to. :(

My first was stainless police model, found out later the weight was Anita on heavy side when escape in the summertime, went from that to the much lighter enduras, endurance 4s, now to Millie's and paramillies

First was a Herbst. Not the Almite Herbst, the ORIGINAL Herbst with the blue anodizing.

Got it in 97 or 98 I guess, (whenever they first came out) from a well-known online retailer; it was expensive but I had my first real job and wanted to splash out a bit.

Although most of the Herbst run was scrapped because of QC issues, mine was perfect. I really, really wish I would have kept that knife. Oh well, live and learn.

First was a Delica 3 PE VG-10 (still use it).
Next came a G-10 Navigator GIN-1 PE.

Since then, off the top of my head (probably missing like 10-20):
Navigator II VG-10
Endura 3 GIN-1
Lil' Temp PE Leaf
Salsa Ti PE
Jester SS
Wave Delica 4
Delica 4 PE
Endura 4 VG-10
Tenacious PE
various Military's - BG-42/CF is the latest, orange G-10/S30V, CF/S90V.
various Paramilitary's - S30V PE all.
P'kal
T-Mag
CF/ZDP Stretch
Chokwe :D
Lava
