Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

All nice Tim, but that EO mod is perfect:thumbup: atta boy Bob;):D
I had read here that Tim has Rheumatoid Arthritis at a very young age. It can be very debilitating I'm sure as I have OA which is not as bad. I had offered to do the mod for Tim of any knife of his choice. He just bought that Dogleg from Evan and asked if I would do the Easy Open mod on it for him. How could I refuse? :D The nice thing is, Tim lives not too far away, so turn around was very quick. He just got it shipped off to me as soon as he got it. I received it on Monday and here it is Wednesday and he has it back to enjoy.
It's now an easy pinch of the blade to open. Enjoy Tim. :D

I do indeed Bob, I really do :) Thank you again

Wonderfully done EO mod--looks factory and like it was born that way. What a very nice thing you did Bob for a fellow member! Lloyd

Just came back home to these three in the post. A Viper47 in beautiful osage orange, a Battle Horse Knives North River, absolutely perfect for pocket carry. Lastly, my Northfield 56 in ebony wood came back to me. It used to be #23 of 25 but now it's #1 of 1 with an EO mod from a forums member. Who also gifted me that lovely leather pocket slip. I can't explain the gratitude I have for those in the forum and will do a reveal and review soon.

Congrats,Tim!! That's a splendid set of knives right there!:thumbup:
Superb EO, as usual, Bob, and an even better offer on your part!:cool:

Just picked up this little guy from one of our forum members - Bob, become a dealing so I can link to your site!
Fit is excellent. Finish is what I would call 80% (Spyderco does a better satin blade finish, but this is quite good). The wood is excellent. The packaging was quality. The main blade needed some proper sharpening - it's ground quite thin. Easily adjusted. The pen blade was sharper, but I'll touch that up too.

The knife met my expectations 100%, and I like it. Man, if they made these things in CPM-154 I'd have a hard time not buying a dozen.

I noticed a few weeks ago that Dr Scott was on the lookout for a 77 NF barlow in African blackwood and due to the kindness he showed me when I first joined the forum I decided to gift him the one I had. He really seems to enjoy the knife and sent me a message that a thank you note was on the way...this is the "note" he sent

My first TC barlow and oh what a beauty it is :D:thumbup:

Scott - this was not at all expected, but is greatly appreciated!

Thank you friend

You are most welcome, Shawn!

I had a very busy day, and had forgotten that I sent it out in the mail yesterday. When I got to the PO, I had also forgotten your last name. So I just sent it to Shawn GB Packer. I joke about dementia, but I hope all my forgetfulness is just due to a busy week.

I know you were unsuccessful in finding a TC Barlow, and I had an "extra" just lying around. I actually was offered an Anniversary Barlow by one of our member dealers. I already had one, but didn't want to pass it up. Normally, I don't buy "duplicates." But in this case, I had in mind that I would try to get it into the hands of someone who was Charlowless.

Enjoy!

I have never been a fan of traditionals. Just hasn't been an interest for me. However, I've been lurking in this thread and a few others in the TFFB forum and I think you guys are starting to make my opinion sway. Maybe its because the only traditional blades I have owned have been very basic Case knives. Maybe I need to own a higher-end, or more unique one to appreciate them more. Either way, y'all are going to make me have a new respect and need for traditionals of all types.

Thanks,
Dan

Thanks for the thumbsup, Paul and Bob. I see y'all doing a lot of nice things for members of the forum, so you have been a positive influence on me! I really was wanting to get it to someone who did not have a Charlow already. So when Shawn sent me a gift 77 Barlow, I knew I wanted to send the Charlow his way.

I love my very basic Case knives, Dan. But short of a custom knife, it's hard to do better than a GEC.

Dan, I was in the same boat before lurking here. A year ago I didn't carry much but spyderco, benchmade, and microtech. Slowly started carrying one of each, now I am carrying just traditional a lot of days. Definitely grab one you like and at least carry both for a while.

Maybe it's the models I have that I don't like. Judging by appearacne (have not handled one ), GEC does seem to be more appealing.

I will take your advice. Good to know you were where I am. Thanks

I grabbed one of the single blade sheepsfoot boys knives. Have actually found that I like some of the older knives like a harness jack and a case 11031 more than GEC new knives in a way. Also still getting used to messing with carbon steel. Pretty awesome variety with traditionals compared to seeing the same old thing with spyderco or benchmade. Makes the big auction site a lot more interesting for sure. I still haven't fully converted as I don't really understand the need for a knife with more than one or maybe two blades.
