Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

I've been "chicken eyeing" those for a while Frank. I don't mind the single blade, but I agree on a couple of your points of normal don't likes. You're kind of swaying me on the, like to try side of the isle. Thanks for your little review. I just might have to consider one soon.

^^^I have the 125th Anniversary smooth bone version of that knife, knarfeng. I also think they did a great job on this model. Bose's design is well executed.

How is the fit and finish, and pull on those? I've been eying them...pun intended.

Fit and finish is very good on this one. I'm not good at rating pull, but it's much easier than my Northfield #61. No half stops, though.

Wow, that's a striking knife, LMGX!!:thumbup: How big is it?

I bought a pair of Case teardrop jacks with "bonestag" covers from Mike Latham at Collector Knives a couple of weeks ago.

...Tony Bose posted in the thread on this pattern that he had designed this knife and that Case had faithfully reproduced it. You know that explains a lot about this knife. It has none of the features I normally look for in a knife. It's a single blade, so there are not multiple blade shapes to use. It's in Case Tru-Sharp, which I don't normally prefer. It has a half-stop, which I don't prefer. But, there is something so right about this design, that I cannot stop carrying it. The blade shape is perfect. The fit of the knife into my hand is perfect. It is a perfect delight to use.

Congrats on your teardrop jack and thanks for the review, Frank!!:thumbup: I'm glad you're so pleased with it. Isn't it funny how some knives meet very few of our "standard criteria", yet somehow "hit the spot" anyway?:o

I think I may have a problem Bob :)

You think so, Tom? You haven't started barking yet, have you? :D:D

Addict! :eek:;):cool::D

Oh ….. and just for future reference ….. sextet, septet, octet, nonet and dectet. :D

I don't need these, I just like the "taste". I can quit anytime I want. Really.

At least I will know what to name the next few, thanks Keith :) ;)

I cam across this nice old Schrade on my travels in Montana over the weekend:

Cool, a 175 floral knife. I have the same knife, but with a serrated blade, (the only one I've ever seen). I don't have a nice pic so won't spoil the thread with a substandard photo of it. Just imagine the same knife with a serrated edge. If I can get a classy, thread-worthy photo I'll post it.
I worked in the wholesale floral industry for a few years, and most floral workers I knew used Victorinox floral knives, (almost identical in size/frame, but red handled with their familiar emblem). I only saw one or two who used these Schrades during that time, and I'm one of them, (late 80's/early 90's). I got the one I have used, around 1988 from my boss at the time. I don't have a clue where he got it, or when, but I believe it to be a 70's knife due the tang stamp. They are not a commonly seen, or collected knife, though they pop up on the bay now and again, (almost never w/serrated blade though).
I carry mine in a belt sheath, though I no longer work in that field, I still like to carry it occasionally.

Thanks for the info Sonny. Love to see a pic of your serrated version when you have a chance.

Here's a closer look at the tang stamp:
