Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

JW225 JW225 - sadly, I, together with quite a few others particularly from UK, are currently unable to view Imgur photos - if there’s a chance to see your Zcherney beauty by another means, would be most grateful

Appreciate there’s some reluctance about these Jack Wolf folders as they’re made in the Far East, but this is my newest folder.

The quality, precision, fit n finish are excellent and the value for money is very good too.

That being said, I confess to a streak of bright green envy reading JW225 JW225 ’s account of his custom Zcherney and the exquisite jigging of the bone covers.!

I have many lovely folders from across the pond, however these days the risks now inherent in postage/courier service to the UK make it too stressful to contemplate.

We have very few good custom slipjoint makers here, but I must make more of them and see what new commission I can create…

Hi, Paul -- sorry to hear about the Imgur snafu! I'd be happy to oblige, but I'm not sure what my options are. Perhaps a fellow Porchster could assist or make a suggestion? Cheers, Jim

Whatever he's using or how the end result is genius! Beautiful colour and depth here, running satisfyingly into the bolster. Overall, the proportions of the knife are spot-on and it has that look that suggests the more it's used the better it'll be :cool: That can be elusive on many Customs which can look very inert and sterile as if not meant to be used.

Great to see this kind of quality in the right home :)

Thanks, Will
Many thanks for the comments, Will. Not surprisingly, I agree with you on all counts. :)

Regardless of the technique used, the result is something quite unique. I love the fact that the design itself seems utterly organic to the overall texture and look of the covers -- it blends in, yet stands out in a subtle fashion.

To another of your points -- yes, the proportions are perfection. This is a more robust Dogleg than the 56's offered by GEC, but not as large and hefty as the Case/Bose Dogleg, which feels a bit clunky to me. The result is a Dogleg that is, in my view, a perfect size, and that feels like it is meant to be a true workhorse.

Cheers, Jim

I am lucky to have a couple of knives from Mike Szcherny, who does amazing work. I'm also a big fan of the Dogleg pattern -- so, when I saw this "Dixie Dogleg" from Mike, it definitely caught my attention. At first glance, the covers appeared to be simply a beautiful amber carved stag. Upon closer inspection, though, it seemed that there was more to it than that -- a design jigged into the bone covers. I have never seen anything like this before, and I think it is subtle and very cool. Really nice work!
