Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

Beautiful. ๐Ÿ˜ Looks like a great score. ๐Ÿ‘

Two blade folding hunters are great. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘
A western 062 with 1095 blades was my 2024 KOTY. It has been on my belt in place of one of my Buck 110's or 1095 bladed Old Timer 7OT (where the weight is unnoticeable) pretty much every day since it came in, about an year ago.

IMHO they are more of a "belt knife" like the Buck 110 and Old Timer 6OT/7OT are, rather than a "pocket knife".
(Also, with them on the belt there is room in the pocket for a stockman, Barlow, canoe, or other favored pattern you want to pair it with, for a wider selection of blade profiles.)

I carried a Buck 110 or Old Timer 6OT/7OT daily from April 06, 1968 until 2024, when I got the Western 062.
After over 56 years, I didn't "think" anything would ever displace the Buck or Old Timer from my belt.
I'd tried a couple non-folding hunting knives over the years, but the big folders were just handier, and did not get in the way when I sat.
(I only had vertical sheaths.)
Thanks, Steve. Yep I'm thinking I'll be looking for a belt sheath for this one.

My latest is another 4" stockman, this time a Robeson branded PocketEze made by Queen. Nice burnt stag and D2 goodness!

I've always liked the Sodbuster Junior pattern, though I wish it had more of a point to the blade. It's friendly in the pocket and the handle shape is about perfect. That thread on the new Crossroads Sodbuster Junior with S35VN blade steel got me to thinking that I needed one. This one has been in my pocket since it arrived late Saturday afternoon.

The edge was evenly ground on both sides. 20 DPS. It came with a usable edge, but it was coarsely ground and the edge wanted refining, a minor task which I don't mind performing. The steel was crisp on the DMT diamond stones, sign of a good high Rockwell. Spring was absolutely flush in both the opened and closed positions.

I was impressed that the sides were evenly ground. So many knives that I buy these days have an uneven primary grind. 22 DPS on one side, 14 DPS on the other is pretty common for me to find.

Frank, this is exactly why I have never owned a Sodbuster. If they just would increase the radius of that belly, it would be great. Compare the shape of your Crossroads to this GEC 73.

And these new handles look really nice, both the wood and synthetic laminates.
I actually find that in every day use there is enough of a point on the Sodbuster Jr to do most of what I need. And the blade is broad enough that I can grasp the blade itself if I need to do so.

I do wish GEC would produce stainless bladed knives again. (I already have enough carbon steel bladed knives to last me.) But the customer base has spoken that they will only accept 440C, and 440C is harsh on the tooling. So 1095 it is.

That is a gorgeous 440C bladed example you have there. And yes, I appreciate the blade shape.

Jerry, my FedEx guy, dropped off this "Tractor Supply Olive Green Peach Seed Jigged Bone" 6347 Stockman with a Case Barn shield yesterday evening. A really nice knife with no chips, cracks, gaps, or drips runs or errors. The blade grind was even on both sides but a bit grippy which is kinda like I like them. I bought two of them and they're both as I described with both made in 2024. The jigging on the covers is first rate.
