Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

Got both if these last week. One on Friday. The other yesterday.

I've been picking up a few more fixed blades.

Nice finds Mark

Friend brought me this Le Sabot Vendetta back from France the other day, it's a big knife.

Beware, don't mess with Corsica this is a large knife! LOL

Congrats, Jack; that knife looks very interesting (and the film is very entertaining)!:thumbup:

I received this Queen Railsplitter on Saturday, I've been carrying it since. It is a very thick knife. Definitely a handful. The F&F is quite good, better than expected. And the best part, all the blades came acceptably sharp! I'm looking forward to using this quite a bit.

Woohoo! Glad to know that you got a good one! Congrats!

I think you mentioned that you ordered two of them from different vendors. Have you received the other one yet?

Rick, i did order two, but the other one had the center liner placed along the pile side of the knife. So the blades were all bunched up in the frame. This one has the correct liner spacing, and decent fit and finish. Im happy with it. Now im considering a Queen #9 as a back up.

Here's some of my latest additions.

First up is a Roger's pearl whittler, marked Cutlers to His Majesty, so I'm guessing this is a later one. The pearl is checked on the front, but not cracked all the way through. The blades are still pretty full; I love how thin they ground the edges on these things. I couldn't resist the little 2 blade Hammer Brand, made by New York Knife Co. I just love the swedges and grinds on this one, the nice old jigged bone, and the way the blades fit perfectly together in the frame. If ya hold it in the light just right, you can still make out the Hammer Brand etch on the master blade. The Art Nouveau match safe is sterling silver, and rides along on dressy occasions.

I picked up the Mandarin marked straight razor in an antique shop a while back, since I liked the way the grind sweeps into the tang. Got 'er honed up, and have shaved with it. I got the other one at the recent Belleville Knife expo. It's been a while since I've seen a razor in this nice of condition for only $20. The plum and blue on the tang is still bright, with gold filled stamping, and the blade is nearly flawless. Still have to sharpen it up.

Just snagged my first traditional slip joint. I have carried alox SAK's as a backup blade for awhile but I've grown tired of them and wanted to start something new.

I wanted a piece that oozes Americana and settled on this S&M Barlow in ATS-34. I'm partial to the keystone shield and I wanted a clip blade with some gnarly stag. Seller's pics aren't the best...

Thanks Jack. This ones a real tank. All steel, authoritative snap and walk and talk. Think the colors are rosewood, though possibly a lighter Ebony or cocobolo. Maybe after giving it a little bath I'll know more.

Found this today at an Antique Shop. Seller listed it as Italian made by Coricama and issued to the Italian Navy (possibly in the 50's).

If you know anything further about these, I'd be interested. Thanks, James

Two years ago, in an ill-applied exercise in self-control, I walked away from an ebony Scout, first at GEC when the hershey-bar knives were unveiled during the 2013 Rendezvous, continuing throughout their ready availability in the weeks (months?) thereafter.

Stubborn, I.

And haunted by the one(s) that got away I intentionally walked away from.

Repeatedly.
