Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

Just got home from the AKI, and had this waiting for me. It will be like Christmas in the morning. :D

Ok, here they are. The osage orange covers are much nicer than I expected. My first in this material. I got two, thinking I may want one as a user. We'll see if I can make myself do it.

Great haul! I've got that same jigged bone #77 on the way, should be here Thursday. Can't wait to get it.

Wolfe, Christmas indeed. Those osage orange covers ARE nice, i agree. Some of the grains they have often remind me of mammoth type patterns.

I owned another Buck 110 for 30 minutes today - bought one to gift to a buddy as a "thank you" for taking me on a hunting trip with him. He has never owned a Buck 110 before - I think he really liked it. Some folks "say it with flowers", I like to "say it with a blade!" By the way, I bought it at a Big Box Store; the blade was perfectly centered, it locked like a vault, had no side or vertical play, and was sharp enough to shave - what's not to like. OH

Got this #77 Washington Harness Jack in the mail today. Was pleasantly surprised to find one still available through a GEC distributor/retailer (I had thought they'd mostly been bought up). It must've been the last one they had, though, because the page disappeared shortly after I completed the order.

(I was taking pics of the knife outside in the last bit of daylight, but my phone died before I could finish.)

Also got this Rough Rider Small Barlow a couple days ago. Not a bad little knife, especially considering it cost less than $8.

First Queen in D2. Feels in hand to me like my Case medium stockman, decent F/F and I sharpened it.

The local "big box" sporting goods store here in Bastrop, Texas had Case CV Trappers with yellow scales on sale for $29.99 today...so I just had to pick one up! Gave my last one away, and I believe there is actually a law here in Texas somewhere on the books that states a man in Texas is required to own one of these!!! Fit and finish is perfect, and I still find it amazing how a 4 1/4" knife can fit in your pocket so well!

Just the trapper or any other patterns. May have to stop at the one in round rock and check it out. Hope the fires didn't affect you in bastrop.

I seriously love the color in this stag. Lots of dark knarly char, bordered with deep caramel brown. I know this look won't please everyone, but I really like...

tdkfm, the closest the fire was to us was about 5 miles away, so no problem!

SAK guy: absolutely!

Old Timer 104OT USA. A friend of mine found it while walking in a local park and gave it to me. After a lot of work cleaning it up followed by a lube it turned out to be in pretty good shape. Spent some time sharpening the blades which took a good edge.

Three new additions this week, my first two #77's and my first #71 Bull Nose.

First is a #77 Washington Harness Jack in Smooth Autumn Gold Bone. I posted a couple pics of this one when I got it Wednesday, but here's another:

This one came in Thursday, #77 Yankee Jack in Antique Yellow Jigged Bone. Really love this knife.

And this last one was a bit of a surprise. I preordered it directly through GEC, got an email from Chris on Wednesday with the invoice saying they'd run my card, so I figured I'd probably see the knife sometime next week. Couldn't believe it when my wife walked in with the mail yesterday evening and it had already arrived. #71 Bull Nose, OD Green Linen Micarta.
