Haven't been on the forum for a few months, work, travel... But that doesn't mean I stopped collecting.

Top to bottom:
Friedrich Herder Hippekniep from the hardware store around the corner, the original one was pretty beat up, so I wanted a new one.

Weidmannsheil, found it in France, paid a little too much. It's built like a tank and weighs almost as much, but the action is still great.

Case Sowbelly from a trip to the US. Love it, EDC-ed it for weeks, really well made.

Case special edition Canoe. It's that Case hit or miss thing. I didn't like it, blade rub, it feels flimsy.

Swiza, the new SAK (I hope it can pass as a traditional). First impression: I don't like it. Nail nick is hard to reach on the main blade, liner lock push needs two tries to close te knife. Pull is too soft on the screwdriver and can-opener.

Extra DRGM pic of the Weidsmannsheil.

And then there were three, i just could not help myself , after figuring out with GTs help that my last Actiforge Laguiole at 10cm was just over length to be legal in the UK i felt the urge to make up for the disappointment ( har har ) and treated myself to a 9cm stag horn handle.

I'm a waiting this mail call to come in. Does any have information on these. I know they did a collection that was a U.S. Army, U.S. Navy & U.S. Marines. Parker-Frost?

QJerry, i very much like your Weids knife and have never seen a similar knife. Is the blade spring loaded ? and what's with the 2 pieces projecting from the end of the handle ? And, does saw blade have a lock when open ?
I think it's a very desirable & rare tank !

Thank you.

When I was bidding I think I saw a similar looking 'Springer' in a picture on the forum. Mine is not spring loaded or supposed to be, I think, the lock is a protruding knob in the back.
The saw is not locking. The little pincer in the back slides out and is for shotgun shells or fish hooks??? I was really happy with it's condition.

Yes the pincers at the back are shotgun shell extractors. The are used to pull stuck shotgun shells from the chamber of the gun.

Haha I try to keep my collection small and tidy with some pieces I really enjoy. Plus almost everything I've kept was found with the help of some forum members :)
