Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

GT,

The top is a Coats custom. I really like it but something came up and I have to move it. Bummer but that's how it goes. The middle one is a Northwoods stag and the Case is an Amber jigged bone. I have never seen one quite like it so I decided I needed it.

I've been waitin' months to be able to post this. :)

Thanks for the IDs, Bill. :) Sorry the Coats didn't work out.

Congrats, Robert; those SAKs are "out of this world"!:D:thumbup:

Robeson SureEdge, Kenn Kutter and Winchester
Congrats on a game-winning triple play, Lloyd!!:cool::thumbup:

I recently picked up a "Special Edition Set" of Buck toothpicks. I first heard about the set last Christmas, but couldn't locate one. I saw them last month at one of my usual online vendors and decided to go for it. The price was right, although almost twice what they went for at Walmart a year ago.

The 3" Buck 385 is easy to find, but I hadn't been able to find the 4" Buck 388 anywhere outside of this set, and the big 2-blade toothpicks are the ones that really grab me. :D I have an old clip/pen 4" Imperial just like my grandpa used to carry, and am always on the lookout for more 2-blade toothpicks. I was surprised at the clip/spey combination on this Buck, but I have no prejudice against spey blades. The covers are advertised as rosewood Dymondwood; here's the pile side of the big knife - think it looks remarkable!

Nice toothpicks, Gary. The pile side of the large one looks nicer than the usual Dymondwood. (and I think their usual looks fine.)

It's a yearly ritual for me to go to the Walmart and check out the Buck Christmas tins. They usually have something from the 300 import line with special covers. My favorite was the 373 and 372 in jigged bone! I can't seem to find them this year, but my local stores really don't seem to want to sell knives any more.

Thanks, Rachel. :) I didn't realize Buck tins were an annual holiday tradition at Walmart! I'll have to see what (if anything) the local Walmarts have in stock. (I thought I saw last Christmas that this toothpick set sold for under $11, which I'd consider an incredible deal!)

Good catch, GT!

LOL, thanks Gary and W  W!!!! Congrats on that 388!!!!!

Gary, the 388 is really nice! I like the two blades also:thumbup::thumbup:
Thanks, Dean, Robert, and Gev. :) I'm pretty ecstatic about the 388, and my wife seemed enchanted by the little 385. I guess I have an unplanned "stocking stuffer" for Christmas! :D

Earlier this year I was discussing knives with a very good friend. Since I know him to collect only custom knives, I was surprised to find out that he has a huge collection of slip joints, old and new. I mentioned that I was completely taken with GEC knives, and we had a long discussion about the history and production of the company. When we met again a few days ago, he brought a gift, some knives out of his collection. What a gift!!!!!
Wolfe

Glad to see your collection progressing and those are some wonderful gifts Wolfeknives

The green jigged bone on that trapper is wonderful

I love that Furtaker Wolfe!! I just completed a trifecta with this one. Bret Dowell...check. Loveless Drop Point...check. Desert Ironwood...check! I was lucky on finding this one...

Postman came ringing the door-bell early before work to deliver these. :D Some compensation for the 8 days they were wasting away in Customs:barf:

Northfield & Tidioute 25s, delighted!

I've acquired a couple more alox SAKs over the last few months, and here they are:

Copper Farmer, Apocalypse Green Pruner, Blue Farmer.

I carried the blue Farmer deer hunting for a week and found it very useful. The green Pruner has been carried to work and enjoyed for it's slimness and utility with the two very different blades. The copper Farmer is, so far, a safe queen . . . I'm not sure I've even opened up the blades, yet!
