Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

I had commented on a pic last week which was blademan 13's Stag 38 Grinling Whittler and how I was trying to track one down for some time. Well yesterday's mail came and what a surprise! A gift from Jamie (blademan 13).
I suspect shenanigans as I did not give him my address and he never made mention of it.
Thank you so much Jamie. I love this one. :D

Great stuff Bob! What an excellent present to receive. I voted the 38 pattern as my slipjoint of the year, they are so well-made and right in the hand.
Just wanted to post my Tidioute version too

Derek that's a very nice Trestle Pine, been pleased with mine:fine quality and reasonable price. Talking of which, those US postal rates to Aus seem very reasonable!

Thanks, Will

My first ever Ocoee River knife was a Saddlehorn with Rams Horn handles. The blades were the sharpest i had ever experienced in a production knife. Since then i have purchased 3 more Ocoee River Saddlehorn folders and all are as fine as the best of the Rough Riders.

I can understand why Will.

A wonderful gift Bob. I know you will enjoy that one. Thank you Jamie for your generosity! As far as shenanigans, I am sure they will abound on the porch as usual. ;):D

This snappy GEC #47 Viper came in last night:

It's my first GEC, first micarta traditional, first single-blade Wharncliffe, first Swayback, and the largest slipjoint I own. What a hand-filler! And what a blade. I can't wait to see how the micarta wears (and I love how dark it is!).

I've been looking for an acorn/squirrel GEC since not long after I got into traditionals, earlier this year, and it's excited to finally get my mitts on one.

S&M #69 barlow stag with the CPM 154 clip blade.

Dadpool...good pick up on the Viper, have one in rosewood, but a few are coming up in GEC next builds. Hope to get one...as I am liking the feel of micarta, especially on larger frames. fixed blades:thumbup::thumbup:
Is the blade 440c or 1095, I have an acorn H73 fixed blade that has 1095...and wish more SS would show up, but then Queen seems to be filling the void for newer steel SS folders. Canal Street did too...

I just got these two in.

To go with these.

Congrats, Gundawg, on your 2 newest whittlers, and on the entire tremendous set you've collected!:cool:

My newest edition is a Case Medium Stockman #63032 CV. It is my current EDC for Carving and Whittling. I much prefer the CV over SS for this purpose.

Congrats on that fine Case stockman, Robert! Do you have any whittling projects you're willing to show off??

Thanks for the welcome. I can't spend thousands or collect 100 models, but I feel the love for these and can easily see myself buying 5-6 Rough Riders and a few vintage users to play with and maybe one or two "nice" knives to take out and fondle now and again!

That big whittler is known as the "Big Whittler" :D. Model RR1045
Sounds like you have a long-term plan already, jb! ;) Thanks for the info on that Big Whittler!

As much as i love my #25 Northfield LJ,after i ran a splinter up into the quick of my thumbnail i could not open it comfortably so i sent off for an EZ Open model, my first , it arrived this morning after only seven days. I can see it getting a lot of pocket time as my increasingly arthritic hands find smaller knives a bit fiddly to open.

That's a cute couple, OMR! Hope the EO allows you to keep enjoying folders for many years to come!

My first GEC, a 66 stockman.
...

Congrats on your first GEC, jacktrades! The #66 stockman sure is appealing!

Congrats on that graceful Grinling Whittler, Bob, and thanks for sharing the story of how it came to you!:thumbup: Shenanigans on The Porch are a mysterious yet wonderful thing. :D
Kudos to Jamie for his wonderful generosity!:cool:

X2

In the last 11 posts of this thread, I realized how much I appreciate finding BF. Acts of generosity like Jamie's, the excellent advice I received from all re: my posting, and the creative pics of a variety of knives (love that Case/Bose and the way you displayed it, Dadpool) make this a special forum. THANKS ALL!!!
+ 5K! :thumbup::thumbup:

My newest is a Michigan Jack to match my Broadway Jack. Both in red sawcut bone.
Tasteful twins you have there, bozack!:cool:

Congrats, Dadpool; sounds like a jaw-dropping jackpot, a fistful of fabulous firsts, all in ONE knife!!:thumbup:

One of my most recent additions is a Schrade Wostenholm I*XL canoe that I won last week in cchu518's generous GAW! Here are a couple of pics of what I consider to be a gorgeous canoe.

It's 440C. I only do stainless, which is why it took me so long to find one of these. :)

Nice Barlow!

These definitely piqued my interest when I saw them Steve. Very nice stag~

After letting go of my Scagel Fruitport in Elephant Ivory, I had to fill that void. Something about elephant ivory must affect the acoustics of snap since the opening snap on this one is just as vibrant in timbre as my previous Scagel.

Thanks for the reply, Robert. :) That owl is looking fantastic, IMHO!:thumbup: I could see immediately that you were carving an owl; my projects are always "touch and go" as far as people being able to identify what I'm working on! :o

Thanks for the comments about the canoe and about family, Harry! :) I hope you and your family and friends enjoy a safe, happy, and meaningful Christmas and a very blessed New Year! Didn't you once mention that you have a daughter living in Holland, MI? Will you see her over the holidays?

Thanks Guys.
major_works...the box says 007, but do not recall anymore where it was on the dealer site.

Tim,,,that Halfrich is a TERRIFIC addition to your collection of customs:thumbup::thumbup:
Happy Holidays ALL

Received two new additions this week. Yesterday was a Northwoods Sowbelly with Italian jigged bone and 420 stainless. Today was a Case Sowbelly in chestnut bone and CV.
