Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

I was able to score this from a buddy in Montana. He's getting back into custom guns so he let go of a few of his beauties. Northfield 85 in red stag!! No editing on these pics...I wanted to show the color variation without tampering with it.

I just received this one yesterday as a Christmas gift. 2014 TV Fish Scaler in Buffalo Horn.

WOW ! for the Pasi H. puukko. One of the best scores of a lifetime i think.
Are you using it ?
I'm holding off on my post. Don't want to take focus off this very best puukko.

Some stonewashed blue jigged bone, got this in as a surprise from Paul. After we discussed a 79 workhorse Bob had modded for him he told me out of the he was sending me something else and this was it. Jigged bone is some wonderful stuff in hand. Thank you bud, your generosity knows no bounds.

Great Puukko Kris. I know you will enjoy using it. I have not had the chance to handle a knife with Birch bark yet. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on it.

Chris

Birch Bark is very durable but it takes a deal of skill to make a handle from it. I think it offers a particularly striking contrast to Damascus steel.

Today's mail included this 2004 Schatt & Morgan Baby Sunfish in goldenroot jigged bone:

The recent thread on Wildcat Drillers got me interested in this pattern, but also made me want a smaller, equal-end version that retained the beefy feel of a full-size sunfish. The jigging sold me on this particular knife. I actually prefer the pile side, which has sharper ridges, deeper troughs, and more jig marks. The mark side is smoother and more contoured, and reminds me a bit of wet seeds.

What is this style of jigging called? In poking around, it looks closest to jigging I've seen referred to as "Rogers" or "Rodgers," but that term appears to be widely used and sometimes, perhaps, misused.

5K Qs, I finally finished up the owl. Not too bad for my first ever attempt at carving. I'm not going to give it up...way too much fun!

Beautiful S&M. I too prefer the jigging on the pile side. The mark side looks too pocket worn already.

Dadpool...that's a good looking knife. I believe that is peachseed jigging( anyone can correct me) That pile side is crazy nice!

Thanks, swaybacksteve and RobertJ1! Peach seed came up when I was trying to figure it out, but the examples I saw seemed like they were generally more uniform, less random and organic. I'm out of my depth here, though. :o

Dadpool maybe head out to the Old Knives thread...I'll be meeting up with one of the regulars and I'll ask if you don't figure it out by then. Real nice looking pattern and yes much more random and deep. Rogers ( the manufacturing co.)tho had a few specific jigged patterns, like the peachseed, and yup haven't made anything in quite a while.
but the Richmond in dark brown jigged pattern looks close...head over to the culpepper site. Sorry for taking this off track mods.

since I had to work the holidays just got a peek at this...

Can't tease us like that! Looks fantastic though :D
I like the Corset shield. It's a better one than the ballsac in my opinion/carries the same basic profile..except for save..the obvious ;)

Tim you are up pretty late!!!
I got totally surprise by Jim Dunlap...this arrived on the 24th!...but with my long and late hours didn't really get to "open" til this pm and will get better pictures in the light of day
Good eye...LC with vintage Westinghouse ( Jim had to find the correct stuff at a show he went to this November) dark red liners, and the "Barbie shield"...and yes the sac is classic but had to have a barbie for my first true custom.
Get some sleep Tim you are on the east coast:thumbup:
