Congrats on your first GEC, mitch4!!:thumbup:
That's a gorgeous knife; the equal end patterns always catch my attention!
I'm not always real great on my visual recognition of GEC patterns. :( Is that a #54 Moose?

I really like GEC's 15s, 68's, 77's, among others but there's just somethin about the 73's. Picked this one up from the exchange and I'm real happy with it, thanks Dickens.

Thanks, Joel! I debated between the two, I don't think you'll be disapointed! Please post a pic when you get it!!

Mitch

Nice! I just ordered a 54 Large Jack in smooth autumn bone. Same frame and blades, just different blade locations. Stoked!

I love the handles on that!! They really stand out--wish I would have grabbed one when they were still available.

Yes, GEC called that model a "Moose", but that don't make it a Moose.:) A Moose is on a Serpentine handle. Look at the antlers of a live moose--they aren't perfectly symmetrical. That blade combination on an equal-end pattern (yours) is a known as a Bullhead (bull horns are more likely to be symmetric).

Sometimes a pattern is defined by a particular blade configuration, sometimes by a handle, sometimes by both. In this case, the handle marks the difference between a Moose and a Bullhead. :)

Rob,
Thanks for all the information. I can see these labels could get confusing! Makes sence what you say. Then GEC calls it the "Big Moose" under their "Equal End Cigar" page. Interesting stuff!
By the way, I think the dealer out of my home state still has them, if you want to check.

Thanks! I didn't realize that was a variation of Autumn Gold--I really like that handle color!!

Something a little different I picked up a few weeks ago... a Silver Stag Small Folder in D2. Very nice but it sure is a chunky monkey...
