Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

Let me tell y'all a little something about Brett (KBA). This week, Brett sold a few of his knives on the Exchange with all of the proceeds going to Bob (BigBiscuit). We have been fortunate to see this extraordinary act of caring shown by quite a few members here on the Porch.

Well, among the beautiful knives up for sale was this honey of a Case Peanut. Now, you're telling me I can get a honey of a Peanut AND help out a fellow Porch member? On it like white on rice.

Fast forward to me coming home after another 11 hour day in the heat. There's a tidy little envelope from Brett waiting for me. I was so excited to see my new Peanut, and when I cut it open, I stopped in my tracks. Not only did Brett send me this honey of a Peanut, HE ALSO SENT ALONG AN OPINEL NO. 6! I was so excited that I immediately forgot about the ice cream I had picked up for my wife and I! I made sure to run out into the waning sunlight to grab a picture, though!

Thank you for being you, Brett. You are a gift to this little corner of the world.

Shawn that is a nice pair you have there in that mail delivery! Brett is a class act, one of our finest!:D

Brett is a kind and caring person. Generosity comes to him naturally. Glad both Brett and yourself are members of the porch Shawn:thumbup:

Just got a couple of barlows in the mail this morning.

First up is a Marbles Ram Horn. Based on what I'm seeing, I'm guessing it was made in the same factory the RR Barlows are made. Seems like the same frame and parts. I'm digging the pinched bolsters and ram horn covers. Walk and talk is smootht with about a 6 pull. Blades are almost centered, but still a little off. A couple of hairlines, but just like RR it's a really nice knife for under $15.

Next up is a Blue Grass Barlow. I've no idea how old it is or who made it yet, but it looks like it's never seen a stone. It needs some oil though to help with some rust. I suspect it will pull about a 6 after the oil. Delrin covers. Both blades are off center enough to just not rub. No gaps. I'd love some insight on this one if anyone knows anything.

Just got my anniversary gift from my wife! It's a good one. I wanted a Geppetto Whittler rillbad, and saw this ancient Kauri wood clip point pop up on a popular international auction website. After much consternation about watching bid and bid come rolling in, it was sold at a price that was higher than I expected (and well over my current knife budget of $0.00). I showed the ended auction to my wife with an "oh well" shrug, having no idea that she had created her own eBay account and was the winning bidder.

The box's return address was "Tiffany & Co" just to throw me off/give me a heart attack if I was the one who got the mail.

Awesome story, and a fantastic looking knife to boot. Happy anniversary, by the way.

Belknap Hardware had knifes made by contract. That one i think,is a Schrade.

Nice stuff Todd. Your Barlow collection seems to be growing everything I turn around. We need to get together soon. I need to get the SAK I re-profiled back to you. Not that we should have to use that as an excuse to have a cold one.

I believe navihawk is correct about the Bluegrass. Belknap Hardware had other tools made by contract also. I think many were made by Kelly. I have a Bluegrass Jersey pattern ax I use frequently.

R8sh, it's a little stiff because it just sat in the tube for years (I believe), but being a cam tang it stills opens smoothly. I oiled 'er up good, and into the case it goes, strictly a safe queen for my collection.

Thank you for the kind words guys. I just noticed the post. :) Coming from gentleman such as you all Im takin back.

Wilted kilt - That is a great gift and knife brother! Time to spoil her a little as well :D
