Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

Congrats, Jake! I can only imagine how pleased you are. Bob would want you to use it.

Thanks Mike, Gary, and Kris, I'm looking forward to getting it back with the new sheath and giving it some work.

CM, you're turning into a slipjoint man, good on you! That interframe Alsdorf is pretty slick!

I've sold a lot of knives lately, even some very hard to get customs outside of the forum, to buy what is now the top of my collection. I hunt, I like hunting knives. I've been using Loveless style knives my whole life (save for the Schrade Sharpfinger!).

It was only a matter of time that I made the jump into the deep end and bought one. It was very expensive...and that's why I plan to use it! I can't let it just sit in a display case. After having it for only 24hrs, it's currently on the way to Bob Dozier to have a new sheath made so that I don't ruin the original numbered sheath with Loveless' signature on it. Stay tuned for more pics when I have it afield! (These are the stock photos from AZCK).

This model is the Semi-Skinner, and while Loveless was known for his drop point design, he concedes that this pattern is the master of all trades for the serious hunter.

Bob needs a bump to the next page...wow:eek:

Wow, a bunch of really cool knives here. That Loveless is jaw-dropping.

Jeff - nice to see a Winchester here. That's a beauty. I'm a huge fan of the Bluegrass/Queen knives.

So I just received these two Great Eastern 23s this week. I have a couple older (07 and 08) 73s, but these are my first big ones. They have, let's say, robust springs. Holy cow. When I first got them, I decided to flush out the joints, flitz a couple spots, and oil them up. The process of doing this completely annihilated every fingernail I have capable of opening a knife. By the time I was finished, I literally couldn't open the knives with my bare hands. I don't have a blade pick, I'm not especially comfortable using a screwdriver, and I refuse to resort to a pliers.

I really like the knives - they're super solid, pretty, and they feel great in hand when I do manage to pry the blades open. I guess I'm going to have to up my calcium intake and try to develop deadly wolverine nails like Charlie has (see 2016 BF knife thread). That, or I'll need to pick up a blade pick. The latter is probably the more prudent course...

John

This just in today. I like it!

I probably should have used a darker background for better contrast. The Smooth White Bone is very nice.

Wow so tiny! I'd like to try one of those out one day and see how it fits my small hands. Looking forward to more posts to see how it works for you 👊

Posting updates shouldn't be a problem. I know better than to make this claim but I'm thinking that this knife will ride in my watch pocket for a good long time. I'm over the moon with it. It's just so dang sweet!

These #14 TC Barlows can be rather elusive and I know I'm lucky to own this one. However, the #14 Boy's Knives are built on the same frame and still available at dealers. Reasonably priced too in my opinion. That might be a good place to start if you're not sure of the size.

Having said that, I can't imagine anyone not liking the #14's in any configuration. They really aren't that tiny but they are small. Bigger than a Peanut, for example. It's a real nice size.

Rick, great Barlow buddy:cool:

Robert, I saw that beauty, I'm glad you picked it up...fits nicely into your collection, hope you've been well:thumbup:

Thanks for the info! I'm definitely gonna check out some #14 patterns.

Looking forward to those updates. You've got a real gem there!
