Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

These just arrived! My first GEC's. I'm very impressed with the F&F on these at this price point.

The rust red is for me and the nifebrite is for my bride! Best thing I ever did is buy my wife a couple nice knives...now she shops for them!

Big thank you to Lake Runner...awesome knives at a great price.

This just came in today! I have to say I am VERY impressed. The fit and finish are perfect. The blades are razor sharp. The walk and talk is excellent. And the stag! What can I say - it's awesome! This knife feels very good in the hand. It's not too difficult to open, but has a very strong snap when closing. So far, I have to say next to my Northfield 77, this is my favorite. I have a few more still coming in, so we'll have to see, but this one is a home run.

I am glad that you were able to get a S&M Gunstock in some good stag John. Nice to hear that you have found nothing wrong with it and like the pattern. I only have one S&M and it is a very good knife , but there are a lot of guys who have reported some issues with their quality.

I've read about some of the reported issues. Perhaps the stag ones have less issues? Now, to see how this compares to the TV that will be here in about a week.

Coleman(I believe its the camping equipment brand) made in Seki, AUS8- beautiful well matched scales.

Very nice!
I see that the ones offered on Australian sites are labelled AUS 8.

But, the Coleman knives for sale in the US are labelled as having 420J2 blade steel. Have to Pass on the US ones.

Congrats!

Good looking #15, MJ71!

Thank you kind sir. I had been searching for a long time (well, three years) for one of these. To me, it embodies the archetypal form of the slip joint / boys' knife. And it's hard to beat a long pull clip blade by GEC.

I know the feeling! They can be tough to come by. :D

Although I haven't managed to get ahold of a long-pull single clip #15, I do have this one with a nail nick, so I can't complain. :)

Love the red jigged bone. Beautiful knife.

I'm startin' to take a likin' more and more to Barlows. The 2 blade configuration especially if you can get 2 full sized blades allowin' for 2 different purposes and degrees of sharpness. Add the oversized bolster on the pivot end and the hand filling handles and there's no reason not to like them. With so many makers and variations. I'd say they belong up there with the Trapper and Sodbusters in terms of American's choices for a working man's knife.

Just received this from Andy ( Gafishing ) who ran a very generous GAW.
Camillus U.S.A. camp knife and button .
Thank you very much Andy !!!!

Great looking Scout, Harry! It's got some real character in those blades and the bone tell a story as well. Fantastic!! The history of the 3rd Division is a great read and very interesting !!
