Twas not I who abused this fella. Our forum member Txjohn had gifted it to a friend of his. His friend broke it. John sent it to GEC for repair. When he got it back his friend was not interested in getting it back :eek:. Long story short, John offered it to me.:D

Ha! A great chain of events. Well done on taking possession of such a great barlow. And thanks for relaying what happened. Enjoy it.

1965 - 70 Case stag canoe. Reminds me of days spent fishing with Grandfather.

PT Fine nutcracker that, must take some strength to use it though, especially on Brazils....;)

Khan impressive old Canoe, great piece!

Just got this one in over the weekend. Single blade red bone Tree Brand in the tree stand. Not crazy about the reverse etch, but it will disappear soon enough while everything else about the fit and finish is terrific.

I picked up this 1991 Winchester (Blue Grass Cutlery, by Queen) sowbelly in some dark stag. The blade grinds are particularly nice on this one.

When Clay (Emspop) saw a comment I made about his Case 6279 he did what us porch dwellers sometimes do and began searching for a 6279 that he could send me. It didn't take him long to find one and notify me that he was awaiting its arrival. Clay asked if I would want to clean it up and make it mine and of course, I thought the project sounded like fun so I anxiously accepted his offer. The gifted knife was in great working order but it was in need of a little TLC due to some corrosion build up it had acquired over the years. Clay sent me these next few pics and I'll use those as the "before" pics.

While not a major restoration, this was a welcomed reminder of what a little wad of 0000 steel wool and a jeweler's cloth can accomplish.

Thanks again, Clay. She turned out great!

This first pic is that bolster with the brass showing through from the third photo above.
