If it's all bone boiling shouldn't mess it up but I've heard people say you shouldn't boil bone for too long. I'd probably just dip it a few times instead of letting it sit or hit it with a hair dryer. Not sure how hard the wax is.

I won't lie, I laughed really hard when I pulled this tube out of the box! It is comically large.

H731 Bird & Trout in Tortoise Shell acrylic. My first GEC fixed blade and my first Tortoise Shell knife. Great proportions, great weight, great blade geometry. The sheath is nice. It's a bit light in color and the belt loop is huge, but I'm sure I can get it a bit darker and will never belt carry it.

For size comparison, here it is next to my 77 Washington Jack.

Anyone else pick up one of the new H73s?
 
I was anxious to get one. But the longer it took, the more I found that several of my folders were almost the same size. Plus, money came into it. That is really nice though.
 
That's completely understandable, Alan. This will go into "table duty" rotation with my new GL Drew. I had previously been using folders and wanted to get something that wouldn't get dinner into any joints. Plus, I had a $60 coupon at CK (for spending too much money there :p ), so that made it a bit easier to pick it up.
 
One of the nicest Jack. But, knowing you I'm surprised it's not wrapped up and put away in the dark, lol.

thanks Alan! I have in fact put this one away as it is now my most expensive knife. the davison has been moved to the edc box!
