Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

I love old knives, and I love the look of iridescent, opalescent mother of pearl. But I also like to carry and use my knives, so I've shied away from pearl handles, thinking them too delicate. Who wants a tool likely to break if dropped? On the other hand, as I've often said, "I'm older than I've ever been." So life is short, and I want to carry a delicate gem of a knife sometimes. Last week I saw this Winchester Pen on the exchange for a very nice price and pulled the trigger.

Jake even threw in a nice surprise: a folding ruler in wood with brass hinges. View attachment 703946 Thanks, Jake!

Exquisite, and great photography. Makes that MOP glow.

Great looking pen Rachel. And a nice bonus to throw in Jake. I agree, a pen knife in pearl just seems like the right thing.

Pics look fine. Nice knife! I was eyeing one of those same knives online the other day.

Thanks! I can't go as far as to say that the quality on mine is excellent but I will say that it's very good. Only issues are very minor. Blade is not perfectly centered but real close to it. Plenty of room between the blade and liner to prevent rubbing.

Backspring has a very minor gap that I can see but I can't see any daylight through it. Everything else is very well done. I'm very pleased.

I'm not too happy with these indoor pics but the knife itself is great. Good quality on this newly made (3/21/17) Case Swayback Gent.

Okay. That's it! The shape and the threaded bolsters got me. And, in case you haven't noticed, I kind of favor Wharncliffe blades:rolleyes: I'm ordering one. I will never find one at my local Ace Hardware, so will have to take my chances.

Received my first 77 NF Barlow from Forum member here on Exchange, very pleased to finally get one!!!

Ha! Gotcha! :D Seriously though Alan, I hope you like yours as much as I like this one.

Rick: I don't know if you remember when Harry ( Old Engineer Old Engineer ) got a whole bunch of those Walnut Rogers jigged bon Case knives. They all had threaded bolsters and a lot of them (maybe all) had end caps which is another feature I like on some patterns. I never pulled that trigger. I'm glad Case is upgrading this new line of swaybacks a little with the cool shield and bolsters. Good on ya!

I do remember that, Alan and I still need to find one of those 63090's in those covers. It's one of my favorite Case patterns.

I have about 10 Case swaybacks and sold or gifted half as many more. I think I have only had one with a centered blade. I have never had one that rubbed though, I think that is all Case is concerned with. Other than that, they are some well made knives.

Good memory Alan . The Bunch was series of 8 models with Rogers Jigged Walnut Bone by Case . Each one had Double Threaded or Lined Bolsters and each bolster had 4 Lines or grooves .

Got this nice blue bone sided Queen Barlow in today!!! So excited...been awhile since I had a Barlow. Just spent the evening putting an edge on that fine Queen D2 steel. So, if you never had that experience, it is akin to sharpening Wolverine's claws with an emory board!

Haha! Reached the tipping point I see.

Here's my newest. Snagged this one off the net for a song... couldn't be more pleased.
